My brother and sisters left today and am really missing them. I’ve been over at my mom’s house really late each night since last Monday night… SO you can imagine how much I needed to do at MY house… plenty.
I did, however, find time to get Kirsten’s pantalettes finished. I think they look pretty sweet under her dirndl! She likes them too and said she feels somewhat like Little Miss Muffet! :o)
Anyway, I thought I’d show you how they look and hopefully I’ll get them listed on Ebay Tuesday evening. I’m even going to try and somehow come up with a Maypole if I can!
Here are a few pictures for you…
Here’s another picture to add to my “barefoot” collection…
I decided on the cream boots…less busy and just a simple look…
Well, I better get to bed, so I can figure out how to make a Maypole tomorrow…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, how sweet, Jeanne! I thought those boots would be the best, and it looks like they are! You really don’t notice them that much, since they don’t show the top part, and the outfit is really what is highlighted so well! I wish I had a Kirsten now!
A maypole—-how cute would that be? Actually, it would be easy, just getting a small rod, and tying various colored ribbons to it. The trick is to make it stand up, and then how do you hold out the various ribbons? Well, I’ll leave that to you, Jeanne!
The pantalettes are adorable and just what was needed!
HI Linda,
Thanks for your compliments on Kristen’s dress set. It has finally pulled together and now it’s up to me to get the setting just right! I can’t believe you don’t have Kirsten… she seems like she’d fit right in with you…to me!
We are supposed to get rain today so taking pics outside is going to not work… I was hoping, but it’s a very slim possibility.
I’ll have to go to plan B, whatever that is…
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne,
Kirsten’s dirndl is so pretty and fresh. Those pantalettes look just neato with it.
What wonderful memories your family has created over the last week. It’s heartwarming to read of the closeness in your family.
Take care.
Thank you Becky,
It’s sort of hard to get back in the swing of things since I’ve been away from my sewing for a whole week… but maybe trying to figure out how to make a Maypole will be just the thing I need to do to get back to it all…
Oh, how I wish everyone’s family could be as close as we all are… It truly is wonderful to belong where I am…
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
The pantalettes are charming — that is super fabric. The boots are a great choice — they contribute to the overall look without calling attention to themselves because the pantalettes cover most of them, as Linda pointed out. Altogether, this is a beautiful outfit and will remain one of the highlights of your photo collection.
So – a strawberry moon because the strawberries should be getting ripe. At my house, there are no strawberries, but much to my surprise, the gooseberries are. The branches that hold the berries are weighted down and hidden in the thyme, so I hadn’t noticed them until I was weeding. Now I have a nice thorny job and I’ll have to think about what to do with them.
Thanks so much for your kind words about Kirsten’s new dress set, Marilyn. I’m very pleased at how it turned out…now to get some great pictures of it!
We’ve already been through the strawberry season here. My neighbor gets the “imperfects and rejects” from an amish family who has a fruit stand and she gave me 1 1/2 pickle buckets full of them. It was wonderful!!
Deb’s hubby makes a mean gooseberry pie!
Thanks so much Marilyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
Very cute outfit. Kirsten looks so proud.
Only going to be 90 here I think. Have to get outside soon as once it starts warming up, way too hot for me. We have no air conditioning. Most in our area do not, because after a few days of heat, fog from the coast rolls in and cools everything off. Natural air conditioning.
Thanks Joy,
How nice to have natural air conditioning from the coast! Nicer electric bills too!!!
Thank you for your sweet words about Kirsten’s dress set… now to get it listed.
Blessings, Jeanne
Kirsten looks lovely and so colorful. i really like her in the pictures barefooted. The idea of a Maypole is sweet. If you have any astroturf that would make a very cute base. We
had a piece for when the dolls were having an indoor picnic and you wanted to pretend to have grass.
Glad you had such a nice time with your siblings. It’s great you can get together fairly often.
Thank you Laura,
Kirsten does look colorful and I think she’s pretty happy right now! Wait until I have to take this outfit off of her… maybe not so much!
I had some green chenille that I used for the grass. It worked pretty well I think.
I really did have a nice time visiting…it just always goes by too fast!
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
Kirsten looks very pleased with her new outfit. It certainly is pretty. I love that fabric for the pantalettes, and can see that you planned the pattern placement to get the most effective use of the ruffles. How nice that you had time to spend with your family. It’s good to do that when you get the opportunity.
HI Carolyn,
Thank you so much for your kind words about Kirsten’s dress set. I love that pantalette fabric too. I should have bought the whole bolt when I had the chance…silly me!
We might get together again in September at my sisters house in Missouri… I’m already looking forward to it.
Blessings, Jeanne
