I’ve decided to continue on with the list that I had made before Christmas when I put my dolls in order of who would get a dress next. This isn’t much to go on, but I have 3 hints for you…
Hint number 1: Her feet…
Hint number 2: A pair of like new red Candies jeans I found at a thrift store… I did tell the lady they weren’t for me; that I was cutting them up for doll clothes. Did she care? I don’t think so… :o)
Hint number 3: The fabrics I’m planning on using…and maybe one more…
So, was that easy to figure out? I hope to get working on it tomorrow. I had a birthday party this afternoon and didn’t get much done on it.
I hope you had a warm Sunday…we didn’t, but the sun was shining!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Those feet look brown to me, and the outfit looks like some much needed summer sun. New Mexico, home of Josefina, uses a sun sign as the state symbol. So I’m guessing Josefina is next. She’d look lovely in that striped fabric.
I’ve never seen jeans like that. Where have I been? Off campus, that’s for sure.
I’d be interested in seeing a comparison between the memory bowl from yesterday and the one made with rope, someday when you aren’t in the middle of a new outfit.
Stay warm.
HI Marilyn,
Well, you were the first to guess correctly…it IS Josefina and she’s very excited since she was one of the girls who didn’t get a Christmas dress. She picked out the fabrics and when I found the red jeans, she was over the moon!
I’ll have to show you my other bowl made with the clothesline cording…
Thanks for guessing Marilyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
At first I thought maybe you were sewing for Julie, but then, after reading Marilyn’s comments, I remembered that you do have Josefina, and think now that is for her. I couldn’t really tell how brownish her feet were, so just took it that they were light and knew they were AG right away. I think Josefina is due a new outfit soon, and maybe the red jeans (wow) would make a cute little vest for her!
HI Linda,
Well, you guessed right on Josefina too… and you also guessed right about the red jeans being her vest…I’m going to try…. again, it’s in my mind, I just hope I can pull it off…
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi Jeanne,
I looks as if Josefina is up for a new dress. Those colors look bright and cheery for winter. Linda thinks like I do regarding doll clothes. I can see those Candie’s jeans as a vest or perhaps a rebozo ( you know her long shawl thing that is worn around the shoulders or head).
We woke up yesterday to very cold temperatures and our first real snow of the year. We had a slight dusting sometime in December, but not for Christmas.. Very late for Ohio as sometimes we have a lot of snow the very end of October. This morning there is 1/4 inch of ice to go with the snow. Usually I don’t mind, but this year I’m ready for it to be spring.
HI Laura,
Well, I guess my first hint…her feet, was a dead giveaway. Yes, it’s Josefina and she’s very excited to be standing on the cutting table. The jeans are hopefully going to be her vest. The fabric is sort of like a denim but it’s stretchy just a bit, so we’ll see… it’s too stiff for a rebozo.
Ooooo…I don’t like ice… at all! I don’t really care for snow either…except when I was little because when it snowed hard, school was canceled. :o) Try and stay warm!
Blessings, Jeanne
I was thinking boots, but Linda’s idea of a vest is a good one.
Who knows Marilyn, you might be right too…..
If it is Josefina, she would look lovely with your choices. With those feet, know it can’t be Ten Ping. Ha Ha
HI Joy,
No…it’s not Ten Ping… I think her feet are about the size of the American Girl doll’s big toe!
Blessings, Jeanne
I would guess Josefina too…my goodness, this is going to be a beautiful outfit. You have such good taste in colors, patterns in the fabrics and values. This will be a very special outfit!
Thanks so much Becky,
I’m hoping it turns out like I’m thinking… Thank you for your compliments…
Blessings, Jeanne
Like Linda, I first thought it was going to be Julie up, but now I agree with the girls in that Josefina is up next. Regardless, the fabrics are beautiful choices together. I too have never seen red pants like that. They look like they might have a croco stamp to them?
I think I might start saving up for a Kirsten or Josefina. Both are beautiful dolls but their clothes are even neater…your clothes!
Have a wonderful Monday Jeanne and as well as everyone else!
HI Paula,
The pants are a replica of snake skin… and I’m sure when they were in style, they were quite fashionable. But that must have been quite a few years ago. I’m glad I found them in such great condition. They’ll be wonderful to work with.
Oh dear, now I’m enabling you to buy another doll…don’t tell you hubby it was my fault! He might not let you read my blog any more! :o)
I am having a cold, windy, stay-inside kind of Monday!
Blessings to you Paula,
~ Jeanne
Yes, Jeanne I am going with the rest of the comments above. Josefina has to be the next girl for a new ensemble. I really like the choices of fabric you have pulled. Hoping to see something on tomorrow’s post !
Still cold and clear here in north Texas. Even the kitty cats are hesitant to go out.
HI Jeannie,
I’m hoping to get something done enough to show you all too! Thanks for the compliments on what I’ve picked out for her dress set.
I think it’s pretty well cold EVERYWHERE! Poor kitties…
Thanks Jeannie,
Blessings, Jeanne
At first I thought it was Julie, but now I agree with everyone that it is Josefina. It is cold and sunny here in north Georgia..don’t like the cold weather.
HI Regina,
Yes, it’s Josefina… I think those dark feet gave it away!
It’s cold and sunny here too and I’m like you, I don’t like the cold weather…
Thanks Regina,
Blessings, Jeanne
I guessed A G feet as I have not played with my doll to be familiar with them. mSince daughter who does not like dolls chose her, i will save Caroline for her. When they make a pricey bag into a doll. Lise will stick to bags and shoes.. Since you wrote yo may be out of shawl fabric, I was going to suggest knitting shawls o a rebozo.. If you cast on enough sts for the length and knit back and forth, a rebozo will knit up quickly. Rebecca knits? A project for her. Change yarn colors every few rows and leave a length at each end and cut this for fringe. I am currently working on a tiny circular project, I may take a break and trytherebozo and send it on.
HI Jan,
Well, you were right in guessing that the doll was an American Girl doll, however, the next one up is Josefina. She was next on my list…so it’s her turn.
As far as knitting goes, I don’t know how…so I’ll have to make her something out of fabric… I’ll leave the knitting to you pro’s!
Thanks Jan,
Blessings, Jeanne
Wow, I do like those fabrics, especially the red jeans! I occasionally repurpose thrift store clothing; in fact I made quite a few AG tee shirts and leggings from a men’s XXL tee shirt that I got on clearance at Walmart. It’s fun to think outside the box sometimes, and I know you are always good at that!
HI Carolyn,
It is fun to occasionally find something out of the ordinary and use it for a piece in your outfits. It’s nice to know I’m not alone in doing this…When I saw these jeans by Candies, I knew I had to have them…There was a lot in them to cut up, so it was a good buy.
Thanks Carolyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
I’m always amazed by your fabric combinations and how they really make the outfits so special. Perfect for Josefina. Can’t get over the wild jeans!
I’ve made some sandals, finally, and sewn some beads on an outfit I’m making. The readers who won your outfits with shoes included should be sending you treats instead of the other way around. Even little sandals are tricky. I’ll probably get up the courage to make some shoes, but first I’d better have my head examined! You are talented in so many different aspects of your craft turned into art. Thanks for the continuing inspiration.
HI Susette,
Thanks for your kind words about Josefina’s fabrics for her next outfit. Yes, those are some pretty wild jeans…I’d have to agree!
I’m debating about making a pair of shoes out of this red snakeskin fabric. It might be too much, so I’ll have to see… they might be cute though…
Josefina’s shoes are pretty easy…compared to Ten Ping’s!
Thanks Susette,
Many blessings, Jeanne
