Happy New Year everyone! I can’t believe 2015 is over and now we are into 2016! I thought it might be fun to look back at 2015 and see just what it was that you all were most intrigued with. I got a summary from WordPress (who I have my blog with) and then did a little summarizing myself and pulled up my top ten posts of 2015. These ten posts are the ones that got the most traffic…and the Number One post received and still continues to receive hits on a regular basis… (If you haven’t guessed…I love crunching my numbers!)
The report I received said this:
“The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 48,000 times in 2015. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 18 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.”
The busiest day of the year was July 16th with 278 views. That post was the most popular one of the year…It was called “My Sister’s Favorite Post…and a “Pickle Report…”. You can see it by clicking HERE.
It appears you like Dolls and Giveaways the most..you’ll see what I mean… I’ll start backwards and work my way to my Number One post…If you click on the title it is a link and will take you to that particular post.
Number 10: Giveaway Number 3
Number 9: Some days just don’t go like you planned them…
Number 8: Giveaway Number 4
Number 7: What shall we talk about?…dolls, of course!
Number 6: An American Girl Doll FOR someone special, FROM someone special…
Number 5: Surprise Giveaway: Tulle Slip for American Girl Maryellen
Number 4: I’m in love with Ten Ping…
Number 3: Meet my second Dianna Effner doll… Janie…
Number 2: Kaye Wigg’s new Gracie is up for pre-order…
And the Number 1 post of 2015 was: Are you getting Maryellen, the new 50’s doll from American Girl?
I hope you enjoyed this past years posts…I’m looking forward to 2016!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Happy New Year to everyone!
I just added Linda’s pickles to my recipe file, and I loved the duck in the wedding dress.
The slide project was one of my favorites too, and the picture of the slide standing next to the sewing machine has to be a Jeanne Marie classic.
It’s New Year’s and Lea Clark has arrived. Her rain forest house looks cute — and expensive. She’s the first American Girl to have her own sloth. She also has a sea turtle and a Margay cat. AG has teamed up with the World Wildlife Fund for the animals, though I think the AG sloth is cuter than the WWF sloth, which has very long weapon-like toes or claws. I checked out Sloth on Wikipedia recently, and they are more interesting than I’d guessed. I think the claws are used for climbing — a sloth is not much of an attack animal.
A friend said that she had always thought that prosperity was more than money — that it included health and happiness. I think it should — and I think it does in the Vulcan “Live long and prosper” salute.
May we all prosper in every way during this new year.
Happy New Year to you Marilyn,
You won’t be sorry for adding Linda’s pickles to your recipes… they are sooo good. I made 2 more jars of them for Thanksgiving…
The post about repairing the slide was one of my very favorites too…it was my second post and I really enjoyed sharing it with everyone…
I meant to mention about Lea’s debut today but forgot. I had to go look at AmericanGirl.com and see her “accessories.” She has some “interesting” things… I bet the AG stores are booming today!
Me, I’m catching up on things here at home… and working towards Kirsten’s new dress set.
Thanks so much Marilyn,
Blessings to you this new year… ~ Jeanne
Because of your blog, I once again have an AG doll. I never thought this would happen. Most of all I like getting to know your family through photos and posts. From a small family spread over many miles, this makes me feel part of a larger group.
HI Jan,
Which doll do you have now? I’m glad to have “helped” you get a doll!
I wanted to let you know I received the Civil War booklet from you! Thank you very much!
I love the pictures in it and refer to it quite often when I’m making my dresses!
I’m glad you feel welcome with all the ladies in my blog group… I have some of the best!!!
Blessings and a very Happy New Year to you Jan,
~ Jeanne
Lea Clark is calling to me! Love her two tone hair. AG sent out a 5.00 off coupon. The tree house is wonderful, but might have to be a DIY, because I’m not spending for that. Saving for the new Tonner/Engelbreit dolls coming out in 2016.
Loved seeing all of the past posts.
Happy 2016!
HI Joy,
Isn’t Lea’s hair just beautiful? I do like the various colors of it blended together…
You’ll have to let me know more about the Tonner/Engelbreit dolls…I hadn’t seen anything about them… :o) I have sort of been pining away for a Trixie Tonner…
Have a Happy New Year’s Day Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi Jeanne! You surely didn’t think that I would NOT be writing on the first day of the year, did you? I have no excuse for not writing anything! I did read your blog early this morning, and just went on with other emails to read, then forgot to comment in yours! I have been cleaning out drawers today, one of the things I always do on January 1st. I feel so good when I get all the “extras” and things I just have been keeping for what, I don’t know, in a big pile and then into the trash/recycle bin they go! Didn’t get it all, but made a good start, so now have to keep going.
I have really enjoyed your presence in my home everyday, and love to hear what all your readers have to say. We all seem to be one big happy family!
I see that the new American Girl doll, Lea Clark, is from St. Louis!! Actually, she lives in Lafayette Square, a beautiful, older neighborhood with huge, Victorian houses. You would never know that from the looks of her wardrobe and the things she has. She supposedly goes to Brazil, so that’s where this collection gets it’s tropical feel. I doubt I get much from her collection, but am anxiously awaiting the newest Beforever doll, Melody. I like to pick things out from their wardrobes to fit in with my dolls, so no new dolls—that I am aware of.
So, Happy New Year to you, Jeanne Marie, and I am looking forward to reading your blog everyday and sharing in your life!
HI Linda,
My, my, my…we are ambitious, aren’t we??? It must be a great feeling…I’m going to come and live with you for a week so you can train me how to be a good housekeeper! I wish…
I am so glad you are a part of my blog… in fact, on my blog “report” that I was sent last night, it had my top commenters listed…and guess who was at the top… YOU! with 349 comments! Thank you very very much for taking the time each day to write what you do! I have learned so much from everyone!
I did see that Lea was from St. Louis…too bad you don’t need another doll…too bad “I” don’t need one either… oh well…
Do you have any idea when Melody will come out? I haven’t heard a thing about her.
Happy New Year back to you too Linda…
Many many blessings to you this new year… ~ Jeanne
When I first found your Blog, I read all of the posts to get caught up, but I didn’t read all of the comments. I didn’t catch on to come back later in the day after having read it early in the morning until fairly recently to read all of the comments and your replies. I learn so much from them and enjoy the personal comments also. Are all of the posts still available. I don’t see them listed anymore, starting with #1?
The American Girl Stores are closed today but on-line ordering is available. My favorite for Kirsten is not shown today. It is very colorful, red, white and blue, and has a handkerchief apron. It was shown fairly recently though. I grew up in St. Louis, so I know where the neighborhood is that Lea is from. Haven’t lived there since I was 15, though, when we moved to England for two years.
Happy New Year to you and your family.
HI Susette,
If you have subscribed to my blog posts, you will get that one post on a daily basis. If you wish to read the rest of them… just click on the BLOG tab under the header..it’s on the far left at the top…just under the little picture. That will bring up all the posts, one stacked on top of the other and there are 4 to a page. When you get to the 4th one down, there will be little numbers letting you go backwards to the first post. And yes, all the comments are still there…
It’s funny that both you and Linda knew where the neighborhood for Lea is…
I bet the AG stores will be super busy tomorrow…
Thanks for being a part of my blog group Susette,
Blessings, Jeanne
Susette, try the June 18, 2015, blog entry. That might be the Kirsten outfit you are thinking of.
If I have the date wrong, use Kirsten as a search term to search the blog. The outfit I’m thinking of shows up in “how to sew a snap on” and then with several red, white, and blue outfits.
I’d love to know which American Girl Jan chose.
The first picture I saw of Lea’s sloth didn’t show the toes. I found another that did. A three toed sloth has to have toes.
Lea is a beauty — I’d love it if they’d set one book in St. Louis — the houses Linda mentioned sound wonderful and it would be nice to have a couple of outfits suitable for St. Louis. Maybe Jeanne can take care of that for us. I wonder if Melody is going to be Jeanne’s next doll.
HI Marilyn,
Thanks for helping Susette out with the “search” engine…it’s on the right hand side column and has a white box with a green box and the word “Search” in white in it… you can type whatever you like in it and if there was a post done with those words, it will show that post.
Since I’m only 2 hours south of St. Louis, I’ll have to pay more attention to what they say about Lea and where she lives or visits…
I have to tell you, I “was” waiting to see Melody but I wasn’t aware she was a 60’s doll… I caught myself looking at Addy’s the other night, trying to find another “Civil War” girl, but missed out on the one I wanted… I guess we’ll see about Melody.. the 60’s were right up my alley… I was 5-14 during the 60’s…Do YOU know when she’s coming out… I should get one some forum’s and try to find out…
Thanks Marilyn,
Blessings to you on this first day of 2016! I hope your eyes are nice and clear!!!
