Merry Christmas everyone!

I’ve been busy. I’ve been too busy… and it took the candlelight Christmas Eve service at our church tonight to calm my thoughts and quiet my heart. I got there 50 minutes early and just sat in the pew listening to the 3 young girls play Christmas songs on the piano, flute and violin before the actual candlelight service began. We had a live nativity set with lots of animals and I looked at them for just a moment and then went inside. I just needed to be quiet. I don’t necessarily like being this busy and used to say I “thrived on stress” but the last few weeks I’ve been thinking about what I can change next year. I haven’t figured it out all the way yet, but I will do something differently.

It was nice listening to the songs, singing them in my heart silently, really thinking of the words and just taking time to remember what this whole season is really all about. I hope you’ve found a tranquil moment to get quiet and think about the tiny little baby named Jesus that was born over 2000 years ago and who we still remember at Christmas time.

  1. Merry Christmas to you, your family, and all of us who read your blog! May this be one of your very best ever.

    1. HI Marilyn,
We had dinner over at my mom’s house and visited for a while… we are all stuffed and keep telling each other we aren’t going to eat “another” thing… knowing all the while, we don’t really mean it… :o(
We are home now and it’s nice to just relax…
I hope your Christmas was nice…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Yes, Jeanne, we all need to slow down and reflect on what is really important in our life! Wasn’t that a lovely time just sitting there and taking in the wonder of Christmas before the service even started?

May you have peace in your heart and in your life! Maybe a New Year’s resolution blog is in the works?

    Merry Christmas!!

    1. HI Linda and Merry Christmas to you today!
Yes, it truly was nice to just sit there and listen to the music and think about the words to the songs… It’s been a really long time since I was “quiet!”
I do have a peace in my heart… I just need to find a little more peace in my life…. :o)

I’m not much on resolutions, but I do have a few things I want to work on in the new year…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thanks so much Susette and I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas day today with your family…it looks like the scarf didn’t make it… so sorry…
I am enjoying myself and am trying to just relax and enjoy what comes each day…

  6. Merry Christmas Jeanne. I’m glad you got a little time to decompress. I too thrive on stress, until I reach a certain breaking point, and then something has to give or I will get burned out really quick. It’s hard to take care of ourselves first, but it’s something we probably all need to learn to do! Hubby and I are home from our Christmas visits, and we are both relaxing on the couch with no immediate plans to do anything. It’s a good way to end the day!

    1. HI Carolyn,
We are relaxing tonight too… we had Christmas at my moms today and then we dropped off some food at the church for the dinner they were preparing for the students who didn’t have any family or who couldn’t go home. We decided not to stay but came home… my hubby is talking to his sister on the phone and I am answering comments and just vegging out like you are!
I hope your day was wonderful…
      Blessings, Jeanne
