(I answered your comments from yesterday, but it was late as I was racing against the clock trying to get Ten Ping’s dress on Ebay.)
I can’t believe it… I have gotten 3 auctions listed in the last 3 days on Ebay…one for Nyssa, one for Maryellen, and now one for Ten Ping… When you get to one auction, just click on “Sellers Other Items” to see all three auctions.
Next up is my 13″ Little Darlings, by Dianna Effner, but I don’t think I can make it 4 for 4…I’ll hurry!
I worked like crazy trying to get Ten Ping’s Christmas dress all finished and photographed so I could get it listed on Ebay Sunday evening….and I succeeded! No one was happier than I was!! I had a lot of fun doing this listing…it’s different than any listing I’ve ever done… You’ll have to check it out to see what I mean…I’ll put a link to the listing at the bottom of this post.
I stayed up late last night making a pair of black Mary Jane leatherette shoes to go with Ten Ping’s Christmas dress. Every time I make a pair, I tweak the pattern just a tiny bit and maybe on my 50th pair, I’ll have it down pat and be able to make them with my eyes closed… :o) (Just a thought…)
[If you click on the pictures, they will enlarge.]
Her tiny pink slip was one word… well, maybe two… little and sweet! It’s only about 2 inches long and maybe 2 inches wide. It just slides up Ten Ping’s legs and flares out so adorably…(is that a word?) My pictures of her in just the slip turned out so clear.. I loved them.
I found some little girls tights today at Wal Mart and made Ten Ping some “big girl thigh highs” from them. I liked the 4 way stretch to the tights and might make a new pair of Maryellen’s socks from this fabric…
Here is the complete look…
Ten Ping thought of a “surprise” accessory to go with her Christmas dress. I won’t tell you what the surprise is… but you can check out the listing to see what it is… Click HERE to see the Ebay listing…
I hope you enjoy seeing this little cutie in her Christmas dress. I’m off to start on my Dianna Effner, 13″ Little Darling’s Christmas dress…
If you’d like to know more about 8″ Ten Ping, you can check out Dale, at Lone Star Dolls in Texas… (HERE) I bought my Ten Ping from her and she is WONDERFUL to work with…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Charming, indeed, Jeanne! Ten Ping is just so completely adorable, and you’ve just added some more “adorable” to her! those shoes,—so cute AND well made! I love the little splash of hot pink underneath her skirt!
Oh, yesterday at the AG store was SO much fun! It is all decorated for Christmas, and was full of busy shoppers and little girls. They had everything I wanted and I even got the last gold hairclip for my granddaughter that they had! My Personal Shopper, Carmel, was there and she helped me find things, and it was a good all around trip, even though it was raining a bit. It was so fun at the store, the rain didn’t matter!
Thanks so much Linda,
You’re so kind to compliment Ten Ping on her new set even though you don’t have her… I appreciate it very much!
I just HAVE to make it to an AG store one of these days and I bet Christmas time is an especially fun AND pretty time to come… I’m just a teensy weensy bit jealous of your day!
So glad you had fun!
Blessings, Jeanne
I continue to be amazed at the details and can’t believe you make the shoes! They are perfect! So many tips in your post, about little girls’ tights for material for the dolls, close-ups of the tiny tulle slip and collars, sewing pins for earrings and, of course, the fabric combinations. Congrats again on getting so much finished.
I like the tips from your followers also: Thanks, Linda, for suggesting the American Girl store. It looks like I’ll be making a trip to the Beverly Hills AG store, but I’ll time my trip to the traffic and hopefully a “slow” day on the freeway. I hadn’t thought about it being decorated for Christmas and the mall will be pretty too. It’s right next to Farmers’ Market for lunch. I hope you get to the St. Louis store, maybe during the Christmas Holidays. Thanks again for your Blog.
HI Susette,
Thank you very much for your kind compliments on Ten Pings dress set. Yes, those shoes… they have been months in the making… well, the pattern has been and I still continue to tweak it each time a pair is made.
I hope you make it to an American Girl doll store while it’s decorated for Christmas, Susette. They sound wonderful at Christmas time…
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
Is the Farmers Market on Melrose near CBS.? We went there often for years. Is the Fairfax district now part of BH? We knew it as West Hollywood.
Sorry to intrude on your Ten Ping post. Clever pin earrings and the shoes become more refined each time you show a new pair.
Jeanne, Ten Ping is so adorable in her little pink and black dress. Love the combination of the two colors. I read the story about her dress on Ebay. It was so sweet, I could have cried for Ten Ping’s generosity and her mom’s. Sweet as can be.
I wish we lived near you too…but then we would have ruined George’s Thanksgiving holiday weekend by him working on our hot water heater and being away from home.
But because of the hot water heater situation, my dear husband sent all of us girls to a salon to have our hair washed and styled! We were lucky to find a salon open Sunday at 3 in the afternoon. We all felt so much better afterwards.
Have a great day! I’m sure Lian and Isabelle will too. (sorry can’t think of the other little girl’s name.)
Thank you Paula,
I thought the last dress I made for Ten Ping was my favorite, but after making this one, it just moved into the number one slot… :o)
What a nice thing for your hubby to do…send you girls off to the beauty salon! How thoughtful of him…
Lian is on the cutting table waiting patiently as I drape fabrics across her… Isabelle and Janie are closely watching from the dolly shelf…
Thanks so much Paula,
Blessings, Jeanne
Adorable ! I love pink, and shoes !
Thank you Pom.
I love pink too! I’m glad to hear you like it!
Blessings, Jeanne
Good morning, Jeanne! You are in the holiday spirit, aren’t you? Great job and congrats for getting three outfits on eBay! All three are super cute; I could not pick out a favorite, they are all equally sweet!
I must say that you are a master at slip making! They are like the “cherry on top”, only they are underneath. (lol) And, you are getting pretty masterful at tiny shoe making, Ten Ping’s are perfect and cute.
I enjoyed Ten Ping’s story and her little hot pink gift too. Have a great week!
HI Cindy,
Thanks so much for your thoughts and compliments on Ten Ping’s dress set. It felt good to be done with all 3 dresses and have them listed on Ebay. Now to just get a bidder on each one.
On another note… I read your posts about your Christmas tree shopping and decorating. Your tree was GORGEOUSLY decorated… I mean it was Beautiful with a capital B!
When I went to my blogging class this last time, the instructor had me change something so I could see more in my Google Analytics statistics…and ever since then I haven’t been able to post on your comments..I’ve tried every combination I can remember and was wondering what would happen if I had you unsubscribe me and I started over. Do you think because I was in there before, it would kick out my email address again… thinking that someone already has that email? I’m going to go try again right now and see if I can make this work…
Thanks Cindy,
Blessings to you,
Jeanne
Love the pink slip peeking out from the skirt. So sweet. And those shoes. Amazing. I think you should photo them with a quarter so everyone can see just how tiny little Ten Ping’s feet really are. I’m sure this one will be a big seller. I just received a Ten Ping so now my Jar-Lu has a buddy. They are both staring at me wondering when I’m ever going to finish that blasted tunic! I did finish the pants and sewed down the trim. Was about to put on the neck facing when I discovered that it is backwards! I’m using fabric facing which I cut out from the pattern only to find that it must be turned to the back. So cut another with the pattern piece down and now still have to tiny hem the edge. I wrote in huge letters on the piece. BACKWARDS! Maybe I will finish this afternoon. I certainly hope so.:)
HI Joy,
Thanks for the compliments on Ten Ping’s dress set. It was fun to make…
…certainly more fun than you are having with the tunic you are making… I feel your pain again as you struggle to get it completed… I know all too well, what you are going through and I don’t envy you ONE bit! I hope you get it done… then sell it for $200! :o)
Blessings, Jeanne
Your tenacity to complete the outfit is amazing. I am quite familiar with a toss in a waste basket when sewing for a very small doll. Good luck on the completion of what sounds like the worst project ever.

OMGosh…Ten Pings dress is just too cute! It has to be your #1 creation for her and the shoes get better and better! That will fly off the auction block!
Great job!
Thanks so much Kathie,
I certainly hope you’re right… I really like it and it is my #1 thing I’ve made for her so far… Dale, the owner of Lone Star Dolls, just emailed me and said with a cute silver jacket and hat it would be the perfect New Year’s outfit! (too bad I hate that silver fabric so much!)
Thanks Kathie,
Blessings, Jeanne
