I cut out this blue and cream Regency dress back on October 22nd and got it partially constructed…I have been waiting on Rebecca, (my in-house jewelry maker…and daughter), to make the necklace for it. This morning I asked in the nicest voice I could muster up, if she could possibly get one made before she had class at 2:00… She made no promises, but I saw her take Elizabeth into her room so I did the Happy Dolly Dance… (in my mind…since my foot is still out of order!) She emerged a little while later with a “treasure” in her hand and it was wonderful… as always!

Oh, you’d like to see the dress too? My mistake… I hope you like it… it has a slight train at the back, a few glass seed beads sewn on the bodice, bows on the shoulders, short puffed sleeves, a pair of fingerless gloves, and some doo-dads for her hair… I’ll just let you look at the pictures and not disturb you with any more words…
Well, was it worth the wait? It’s been a long time in the making… I managed to get it listed on Ebay Monday night and it will end on Saturday evening. It includes the dress, the necklace, the fingerless gloves, the sprigs of white flowers for her hair and a length of silk ribbon for the winner to tie in their dolls hair however they like.
You can see the listing by clicking HERE.
Don’t forget…Patsy’s Snow Princess dress ends tonight on eBay too!! To see that auction, click HERE.
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Beautiful! You did a great job ! Rebecca is as talented as you are!
Hi Sylvia and thank you very much for your kind words about Elizabeth’s new Regency dress. I’ll tell Rebecca you gave her a compliment on the necklace too!
Thanks for reading,
Blessings, Jeanne
The Bluebell dress is absolutely lovely, all the design features and the colors are perfect on Elizabeth, especially with her hair that you did such a beautiful job of styling. The necklace that Rebecca made and the gloves are such wonderful touches. You are truly inspired. Very professional photography too.
HI Susette,
Your kind compliments have me blushing this morning… thank you so much! I’m pleased with how this dress turned out… I’m wondering about my Christmas Regency dress and hope I can come up with some equally as nice.
Professional photography? Me? I have a $91.00 refurbished Casio camera, but I do take LOTS and LOTS of pictures, before narrowing it down to the ones I use…
Thanks so much Susette,
Blessings, Jeanne
What a wonderful hairstyle! Altogether, Elizabeth looks wonderful and, I think, quite period. I can imagine her sisters working on those braids and carefully tucking the flowers into them. The bows are definitely a nice touch, and the necklace goes with the dress perfectly. Your outfits definitely illustrate the concept that “details matter.” I think this shows up especially well because we’ve had more time to see them develop. You’ve already got your first bid.
Tomorrow we’ll probably see Molly’s complete outfit, with shoes, socks, something for her hair, and an accessory, and she’ll be ready for her first bid. That will be something to look forward to.
Yesterday you said the day was the most pain-free one you’d had and that maybe the new boot helped. How do you feel now?
The sleeve board I got through Ebay arrived yesterday and the iron the day before, both from Amazon, though the Ebay information didn’t say Amazon in any obvious place. I suppose from now on I’ll check both and comparison shop.
HI Marilyn,
Yes, it’s always encouraging to get a bid early on and that made me smile! Thanks so much for your many compliments on the Regency dress. I DO believe strongly that Details Matter and I’m glad you noticed it…
I’m hoping to get Molly’s set done today. Fortunately I don’t have to wait on a necklace from Rebecca for this one,…it’s all up to me to get it finished…
Well, I wish I could say that today my foot was better, but I’m sort of at a stand still on the foot thing. The ankle brace that was loaned to me made my ankle feel stronger, but when I out it on, then put on the brace that I was given that velcro’s around my foot, it made my right leg a bit higher than any shoes I have to wear on my left foot. So this morning when I woke up I was all out of kilter… my lower back hurt, my left left felt like it has shin splints on the front and charlie horse just about ready to happen on the back side and it felt like my knee was hyperextended… not a great feeling. So today, I am just going to try some really spongy and comfy shoes that have a velcro strap…sort of a Mary Jane shoe, both the same and just walk slowly but try not to limp so much… I’m hoping I can get my body all aligned up again… The pain in my foot is slightly better…the bruising is sort of spotty on my foot now…
I hope you’re enjoying your new iron and sleeve board. I bet you are…You’ll be finding all kinds of little things to iron! :o)
Thanks Marilyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne,
Your work is enchanting. I came upon your blog within the last year and each morning I save it for the last to read-the icing on the cake of blogs. You make the loveliest outfits for your dolls (and Rebecca makes the loveliest necklaces/jewelry for them too!).
Take care with your foot. We all want to see you well rested and healed.
Hi Becky,
Thank you for your sweet words about my blog posts and doll outfits. I’m sure you’ve noticed… I LOVE to sew for dolls! I’m glad you found my blog and are a part of my little world… I appreciate your kind comments…
Blessings, Jeanne
I am trying again after writing and then having my computer freeze up on me, so I couldn’t post! I hate when that happens!
I am just loving the way Elizabeth looks in her now outfit and hairdo!! So pretty from the tip of her head to the bottom of her feet! I love the delicate features on her dress, the lace and beading, plus the lovely crystal and pearl necklace (Rebecca’s part), and her hairstyle, with the lovely braids and flowers!! Those lacey gloves with beads make the perfect touch! I swear, Jeanne Marie, did you ever do hairstyling too? Your dolls look just gorgeous all the time with the way you fix their hair to accent the outfits!!
I’m thinking you will have another problem getting this outfit off of Elizabeth—-as if your problem with Molly’s won’t be bad enough!!
Thanks so much Linda,
Sorry about your computer… I had the sort of the same thing happen to me last night. I was trying to get the Regency dress listed on Ebay. I have a program that is sort of set up in templates where you can fill in your text and then your pictures. I was almost done.. had the background color set, the fabric tiled around the edges, all the borders on the pictures right, most of my pictures ready, and then I hit a wrong button…and lost it all, because I HADN”T HIT THE SAVE BUTTON! I had to start all over! I was just sick…
Thanks so much for your very sweet comments on Elizabeth’s dress. I think you “LIKE” it, if I”m not mistaken… It’s nice to hear what you like about it. No, I’m not a hairstylist, but I have cut George’s hair for 33 and a half years… I cut Rebecca’s hair every once in a while and I do play with her hair french braiding it and doing other things from time to time with it. I just love to try new things with my dolls…it’s fun! I thought leaving it down with a couple of french braids on the side would be pretty and youthful looking… the way Elizabeth wanted to look.
Elizabeth knows that since Felicity came, she gets to model the Regency dresses and she knows a Christmas Regency dress will be coming up fairly soon for her…so she’s not too worried about this one…
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
It is really pretty Jeanne. The perfect color for Elizabeth. 🙂
Hi Christine,
I would have to agree with you that Elizabeth always looks prettiest in the blue dresses. I’ve probably made her more blue ones than any of my other dolls…
Thanks for your compliments Christine,
Blessings, Jeanne
Love the dress and how it drapes.
Went to Costco yesterday and found AG Caroline for $99. Includes an extra dress too.
Guess she is in most stores.
HI Joy,
Congrats on getting Caroline… I bet you are having fun playing with her today… I think she is a very pretty doll. We don’t have Costco stores around here… it’s probably a good thing!
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, I didn’t get Caroline. Just wanted to pass on the great price to others.
Hi Joy,
Oh , I see, was she pretty? Were you tempted? Thanks for letting us know Caroline is in the Costco stores…
Blessings, Jeanne
The E dress is completed . Congratulations! Hope tomorrow morning everything has settled back in place. Would doing gentle stretching on each side of your body help? I was going to write from toe to upper hip and then remembered one foot is out of commission.
HI Jan,
I have been trying to do some stretching on my body… but it’s so out of whack that it’s sore… I’m sure in a few days it will be back to normal… Thanks for your advice though…
Blessings, Jeanne
