I was hoping to show you the blue Regency dress that I’m working on, but Rebecca, (my jewelry maker) said she couldn’t possibly get a necklace made for at least 3 days, so I put that on the back burner and will show it to you as soon as she gets her school projects finished. I turned my thoughts to something else… Patsy’s Christmas dress! There were lots of comments and emails and the winning fabric was the light blue snowflake print. I think she’ll look very cute in it and hope you’ll like what I come up with. Thanks to all of you who voiced your opinions on the fabrics…
Here are a few goodies I found that might possibly work with her dress…I’ll get sewing on it right away!

Since this is the week of Halloween, I thought I’d show you my favorite orange and black dress. It was modeled by Lian, my 13″ Dianna Effner Little Darling doll, and I think she looked spectacular in it. I’m not sure if it’s the dress, or how, when I photographed Lian in it, she looked so real. I can’t help it, but I have to admit, she looked absolutely stunning in this dress… I hope you enjoy seeing a few different shots of her in it. And to the “winner” who won it, “eat your heart out!”
Now, wasn’t that refreshing? This was a hard one to wrap up and send off… some of them are like that…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, I’m so glad the snowflake print won!! It was my favorite, too. Of course, I love almost anything with snowflakes on it!!
Loved seeing Lian in her Halloween dress, too! She looks wonderful in everything, I think!
Charlotte
Thanks so much Charlotte,
I got the snowflake dress “jacket” finished tonight…will have to wait on the sewing part of the dress for a little longer…
Lian does look pretty in most anything doesn’t she?
Thank you Charolotte,
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, I have a few minutes here to say YAY, the snowflake material won! Oh, that array of trims and fur is just stunning!! She will be a real snow queen!!
Lian is just plain adorable in that outfit!!
Jeanne, I’m still here and was just thinking, a little fur cape and muff would be darling! Not sure how big Lian is, so maybe fur trim would be harder to do than on a bigger doll.
I agree that Lian does look perfectly real. A few of those straight on shots of her make her look like she is posing for her Kindergarten pictures. Very sweet.
I, too am happy that the little blue Christmas print was your final choice for Patsy. I love the silver and trims but the kicker there is that darling silver-ish {?} fur trim!! Oh, I am liking that a whole lot !!! I am trying to imagine just where you will put the fur….. hmmmm….. !!!
I’m looking forward to this dress and the regency dress on Elizabeth.
Happy Halloween to Lian and to you, Jeanne! Lian is a beautiful girl in her sweet dress that you made her!
Patsy will be cute in her snowflake dress and it will be much easier to photograph than red. I love light blue and happy that color can fit in with Christmas dresses. Have a great sewing day today!
We are having a rainy day today, and maybe snowflakes in the early morning hours! I won’t be up to see them though.
Oh the snowflake material and that silvery fur and trim is beautiful. Patsy will look adorable by the light of the silvery moon!!
And sweet little Lian in her orange and black outfit….too cute for words. She does look like a real little person in those pictures, like she’s proud to show off her special dress. the buttons on the hem piece are so clever!
It’s a good day to do laundry since it’s very wet outside.
Have a great day, Jeanne!
That lovely orange dress also has your favorite black and white trim, and I’ve always liked the material in the petticoat. My Sophie, who is supposed to be Greek but has a French sense of style, looks great in orange and it’s definitely time for the girls of all sizes to be choosing their Halloween outfits.
Your orange and black is stunning. Such wonderful details. Her slip is so pretty it could be worn as a summer skirt.
Can’t wait to see Patsy’s newest outfit.
Wow that orange and black on Lian is perfect for her. I may get a dark short wig and see if my #2 would look that cute…although she likes to be a boy quite a bit of the time.
The silver is so pretty with silver accents…that’s going to be a knockout. Can’t wait to see it!
Can’t wait to see how you use the fur trim. Hard to use for a small doll i’m sure.
Love Lian’s black and orange dress and her slip is so pretty. Looking forward to what you make Patsy with the blue snowflake fabric and the pretty trims you have shown with it.
