Hi everyone,
I worked so hard trying to get Ten Ping’s dress set finished…and I almost made it…but not quite. I’m not too disappointed though…and I’m actually sort of excited… I got an email from Dale at Lone Star Dolls (HERE) remember I told you about her yesterday? Well, she asked for my address and told me she wanted to send me something to go with Ten Ping’s outfit… so I’m going to wait and see what it is before I list it! Who knows… your guess is as good as mine…
Her dress is all done, the slip is finished and her sweet little hat is done.
What I didn’t get finished was her book bag and her shoes. I was tweaking my shoe pattern again…I have dozens of these little patterns that I keep trying to get a perfect fit on her foot. I was a little disappointed that the reddish color Ultrasuede that I have is just slightly off in color, so I’m not going to be able to use it with this dress set. All the colors I have in my stash now…and not a single piece of black…so I tried gray…but it wasn’t working for me… then I tried some black felt…nah…
Here is what was eating up my time this evening… Now I know why people just fork over the $8.00 bucks for her shoes…
So for now, she’s wearing the little black and white slipper type shoes I made a while back…
SO…on another note… a happy note… my hubby just surprised me this evening by telling me he’s whisking me off tomorrow for our 34th Anniversary! It’s actually on Saturday but I think we are starting in the morning by going to the Labor Day 100 mile yard sale! There is one on Memorial Day and then another one for Labor Day. I heard him talking to someone on the phone saying, “Yeah, Jeanne likes to go to these little fabric shops looking for things for her dolls” and “she never knows what she’ll find at these yard sales for her dolls!” How cool is that?
I’ve got to plan a few posts ahead for the next day or two, and it will most likely be some pictures from the archives… I hope you don’t mind…
I’ll do my best to keep up with your comments… but I might be having too much fun in the day…
Don’t forget about my 50’s dress ending on Saturday night on Ebay…
See you in a few days… I guess… :o)
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh my gosh, what a cute little outfit! I love the special stitching on the white lace collar and the buttons! That little tam is so cute too! Good job, Jeanne!
Well, I think just plain black shoes would be fine, maybe with a little red bow, as long as the red went with the red of the dress. Little black mary janes would be perfect, but I have no idea where you would find those.
Have fun this weekend ! It’s going to be a hot one, but who cares when you are having some fun time with your “groom” of 34 years! He certainly know what his “bride” likes to do! Happy Anniversary to the two of you!
Linda, we have stopped for a late lunch at one of our favorite restaurants… Bella Italia! It has been in the upper 90’s and I have no idea what the heat index is…I’m sure over 100 degrees.
We are “sticking” to each other…but not in a very romantic way…:*)
Blessings, Jeanne
Beautiful dress Jeanne, oh how I wish I could go on that yard sale trip! I’m sure you will find at least a few treasures. Happy Anniversary!! Love you!
Hi Cindy
You ate going to have to come with us sometime
But it is miserably hot today…
Love you too! Me
Ten Ping looks adorable and I hope you have a wonderful time on your anniversary trip! Happy Anniversary!!!
Hi Christine, we ARE having a good time! Now it’s time to hit some antique shops!
Thanks, Jeanne
Happy Anniversary, and congratulations on 34 years of a wonderful marriage. That’s an accomplishment for you both.
I love pictures from the archives — they’ll be nice to look at while we know you’re out shopping for new nice things to sew. Isn’t it nice to have all of us to show your new fabric selections to when you get back?
Happy shopping.
Thank you Marilyn,
I hope you enjoy tomorrow’s post. You haven’t seen this girl of mine for quite some time!
I was very good today and only bought one Christmas fabric…. and a free buttons….I had to…
Blessings, Jeanne
The little red and black dress looks so cute. I love surprises as well. Happy early Anniversary!!!:-) It sounds like you are going to have a fun day and it is so sweet that your hubby is taking you to look for doll things. I’ve found some things over the years that are perfect, like a bucket for Kirsten that I preferred to the one PC made. I hope you find some great little treasures.
Hi Laura, I found a few little things but there is always tomorrow! It was SO hot today…it sort of sapped our energy.
It was just nice to get away and do whatever we wanted.
Thanks Laura,
Blessings, Jeanne
Adorable outfit Jeanne. Those little glasses on her are so cute!
Happy Anniversary! Hope you have a great day!
We will be married 34 years Saturday as well.
I love my husband so much as I know you do yours.
God Bless
Marsha
Hi Marsha,
I think I remember us talking about having anniversaries on the same day one time when we chatted in the past. So Happy 34th Anniversary to you too!
We had a nice day and O look forward to tomorrow too!
Thanks Marsha,
blessings, Jeanne
The red and black fabrics look so good together, and I think the little hat is adorable. A book bag will be the perfect accessory. Have fun on your anniversary trip. I have found lots of sewing treasures on our flea market jaunts that I would have never found otherwise. Husbands who are supportive of our hobbies are the best! Happy anniversary to you both!
Thank you Carolyn,
I found 2 bags of fabric scraps at one place and when I got ready to pay, she said,”oh just take them…I don’t want them back…” so I don’t even know what’s in the bags!!!
Thanks Carolyn, for upu kind comments about Turn Pings dress set.
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh she is so cute. Love the shoes and the way you trimmed the lace.
You have a wonderful husband. He listens to what you need and love. I know you’re going to have fun on you little road trip
Lynn
Hi Lynn, thanks for the compliments on Turn Pings dress. It’s easy to make her look good!
Yes, I do have a wonderful hubby…today it was yard sales and fabric…tomorrow he gets to go to Harbor Freight Tools!
Thanks Lynn,

How nice that George planned a special day for your anniversary, especially starting with the huge garage sale!! Have a wonderful day in every way.
I think I thought your birthday was Sept. 5th not realizing it was your anniversary instead. My parents anniversary is Sept. 5th too.
Ten Ping looks adorable and I agree she looks very studious and intelligent. Beautiful dress and so perfect looking.
Have fun for the next couple of days. Hugs!
Thank you, Paula, for your kind words about Ten Ping’s dress. She is such a little cutie!
Happy Anniversary to your parents too!
It is nice to get away…I just hope tomorrow is s few degrees cooler…
Blessings, Jeanne
Great Anniversary for you and George! He will have a good time looking for tools and all that goes with his hardware store adventures.
Jan
Hi Jan,
Tomorrow will be his big day at Harbor Freight Tools. He did find quite a few today though…
Thanks for the anniversary wishes, Jan.
Blessings, Jeanne
Another!!! 100 mile yard sale. Wish we lived close to one of those! The town where I grew up picks a day and every one who wants has a yard sale the same day. Here you can find half a dozen each weekend all summer, always far apart.
Ten Ping looks lovely, I notice the bow added near the hem of her dress…nice touch, and her hat looks so cute. I’m sure you’ll get her shoes figured out.
Happy Anniversary! Have fun!
Thank you Jevne,
We have been going to this 100 mile yard sale for quite a few years now. We never know what we’ll find.
That little bow at the harm was an afterthought. Glad you noticed it…
Thank you Jevne
Blessings, Jeanne
Ten Ping’s dress is adorable! Have fun at the yard sale and Happy Anniversary to you both!
Thank you Regina, for wishing me a fun day and Anniversary…
Blessings. Jeanne
I didn’t even see the bow until Jevne pointed it out! Cute touch as well as the heart button on the slip. 100 mile garage sale?? Sounds gloriously fun!! Very envious here.
Hi Joy,
It was fun but it was HOT!
Thanks for your wishes!
Blessings, Jeanne
