Since we are still in “school mode” I thought I would share one of my favorite “Back to School” sets I ever made. I didn’t have a Nyssa doll, by Kaye Wiggs yet, but a dear doll friend all the way in California, had just gotten her new (used) tan Nyssa and she sent ME her doll to use and draft some patterns. I thought this was incredible!! I think she paid $1300 for this doll and she just shipped her to me, right after she received her.
I did have a lot of fun with her and it wasn’t too long until I found one in fair skin for myself…
So let me introduce you to Nyssa…these pictures were from 2010 and I called this one “New Girl in Class.”

How about this book bag…it was one of my very favorites…ever…
I really need to sew more for Nyssa… she’s really a sweetheart…
Don’t forget… tonight my 1950’s “Teacher’s Pet” School Dress for the American Girl dolls ends on Ebay.
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Happy Anniversary to both of us today Jeanne! You know I love Nyssa! Adorable outfit. Hope you will sew for her again. Always love your creations.
God Bless
Marsha
Hi Marsha and Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby. I hope you’ve had as much fun as we have!
Seeing Nyssa in that school dress makes me want to make her something soon…
Blessings to you Marsha, Jeanne
y from dolls, when I started looking at them again, I did not understand the appeal of dolls with expressions that I did not think were pretty, but unpleasant. Slowly, I could see the appeal.
Hi Jan.
I think the first part of your comment got cut off…
I can’t say I like dolls that are ugly but I do like some like Nyssa who are a little different looking.
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh…you KNOW I loved this one!!! What an adorable outfit and of course your work is exceptional in every sense of the word. Just wonderful, Jeanne!! I loved seeing it, loved seeing your friend’s Nyssa and yes…it was really something that she shipped her to you like that. (she must know you quite well) 🙂
Love and blessings,
Bobi
Hi Bobi, I am glad you enjoyed seeing Nyssa. I have never met the lady who loaned me her doll but we are good friends by email!!!
Blessings, Jeanne
Adorable outfit for Nyssa. Off topic, and you may have covered this in the past, but how do you store the adorable outfits that you actually keep? I have dolly shoes (mostly) in those divider boxes like the button ones, but the outfits are everywhere.
Thanks
Hi Joy,
I don’t have to worry about storing any of the outfits I make because I don’t keep any.
I sell everything i make.
I have my shoes, wigs and glass eyes stored in drawers, along with props and accessories…
Blessings, Jeanne
