Our son called last night and asked if he could cook dinner for us Friday night! I’m all for that any day of the week… so of course, we said yes. Kristoffer is an excellent cook and he proved it once again with his version of Shrimp Scampi. It was out of this world and disappeared very quickly from our plates… It wasn’t served up any fancy way for us, but it was outstanding! Just thought I’d share a picture or two of what it looked like. Can I hear a Y-U-M-M-Y?
I mentioned to you I had 2 meetings today and then Kristoffer was coming over for dinner…well after my lunch with Sarah (my webmaster, who is going to Africa for 6 months), boo hoo!!!…another friend and I went to our Thrift Store and looked around. Then we went to T.J. Maxx. Well, shopping is fun and we had plenty of that, but it’s not conducive for sewing. I was, however thinking of Molly’s white blouse and all the many white blouses I have made in the past, and thought I might share a few of those with you…
I think you know who most of these dolls are: American Girl Molly, Kirsten and Josefina…and the last 3 are of my 16″ Kish doll, by Helen Kish and also Katie Effanbee…Just enjoy the pictures of some of my past white blouses!
If you click on any picture it will enlarge…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, yummmmm, Jeanne! From the looks of it, Kristofer should be a chef! He certainly will be a catch for some lucky girl! You are so fortunate to have a son who cooks for you. Mine is good too, but lives too far away.
I can’t believe how many white blouses you have made! I don’t remember you having a Josefina, did you sell her? She looks like the one I have. I absolutely love the outfits for Kirsten! You outdo yourself every time with her!
HI Linda,
Kristoffer does have that cooking skill so who knows… but for now, it’s nice to just be on the “receiving” end of things. It really was delicious! He also makes an alfredo sauce that is out of this world…I’d rather have his than any other recipe I’ve ever eaten…
Yes, I had a Josefina…but she too, is one who got away from me… it wasn’t because she wasn’t a good model or that I didn’t like making her things…(I DID!)… it was because she was so hard to photograph. Her skin never looked right…almost pasty like…so she got sold…
Thanks for your kind words Linda…
Have a wonderful Saturday,
Blessings, Jeanne
I can’t find words…I am so taken away by your talent. There’s no way I could pick a favorite white blouse in that line up…they are all simply beautiful and amazing. I wish I could feel each one, hold it and examine all the wonderful little details. I’m envious and grateful at the same time. Envious of your talent but grateful that I at least get to see it and that shrimp…
O.M.Gosh………….I just finished breakfast and I would do just about anything to be able to grab a fork and pull a big wad of those shrimpy noodles through my monitor. (slobber, drool)
XO
HI Bobi,
Thank you so much for your very kind words about my white blouses used in some past outfits. It’s always fun to find a new white fabric and add it to my stash…
Yes, Bobi, I wish everyone could have tasted his shrimp right along with me… It truly was delicious and disappeared way too fast. In fact, don’t tell anyone, but my hubby went and got a piece of bread and “sopped” up what was left in the pan…it was that good!
Thanks so much,
Have a wonderful weekend,
Blessings, Jeanne
Love, love the outfit on the Kish doll….great blouse with the pleated jumper, and the purse! Sad to say I haven’t even taken my Kish girls out of storage since I moved two years ago…maybe one of these days…
Hi Kathy, I always liked that black and white set too. It was a little different than what I normally do
I sold my two 16″ Kish dolls a few years ago
but thought they were lovely dolls.
Thanks Kathy,
Have a nice weekend,
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi, Jeanne. I was excited to look at the pictures of your white blouses. There is nothing like a nice crisply ironed white blouse to set off an outfit. As I was looking at the pics of your girls I tried to decide which one of the fabric was my favorite. I really can’t pick just one! I am not sure where you find such wonderful selections of white blouse weight fabrics but I would like to know. I look all the time !!
Of course, I think Molly looks the very best in her white blouses but then Kristen is running a very close second!
Hi Jeannie,
Thanks so much for “scrutinizing” my blouse fabrics! I do like white fabrics too and whenever I see them, or wherever I see them, I buy a yard or two. They come from Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s, sometimes Walmart, other little shops I happen to visit, sometimes online… and there’s not really one particular kind I buy. If I think it’s pretty, I buy it.
I sometimes buy a tablecloth, or a fancy blouse that has a neat texture and re-purpose it.
I probably have more fun making white blouses for Kirsten than any other doll… Her dirndl’s most always have a white blouse to start with and then the fun begins with what to put with it.
Thanks so much Jeannie,
Blessings, Jeanne
No way can I choose a favorite blouse here or a complete outfit for that matter. So wonderful to see them all. I do think Josefina looks adorable in the photos. You certainly did an excellent job photographing her even though you no longer have her. She is one of my favorite AG dolls. Think Kris needs to open a restaurant.
Hi Joy, Thanks so much for your very kind comments about my girls. I did and still do love Josefina and probably would have kept her if she wasn’t so hard to photograph. The only pictures I ever really liked of her were the ones taken outside. She is very pretty in the good pictures.. I have to agree.
If Kristoffer opened a restaurant, we wouldn’t get him to cook for us… so I think I’ll keep that idea to myself…
Thanks and have a wonderful day…
Blessings, Jeanne
I agree, too many pretty white blouses to pick a favorite. I do love all of the Josefina outfits. I think you are too critical about your photos, Josefina is lovely.
Thank you Regina,
I’m glad you enjoyed looking at the blouses, especially Josefina’s. I’ve come a long way in my photographic “skills” so maybe now I could take a decent picture of her… oh well… but thanks for your kind comments… I appreciate them.
Blessings, Jeanne
Such an awesome assortment! How many ensembles have you made over the years starting with American Girl? Hundreds?
That will get you thinking 🙂
The shrimp Scampi looks delicious…He did a great job.
(My daughter has those dishes too…Love them)
Have a nice Sunday…
HI Kathie,
I just tallied up my totals… I had done that at the beginning of the year, but hadn’t added on my newest things sold. Including the little red and navy plaid dress that Isabelle is modeling, I have made and sold 859 outfits! So averaging things out since 2006, I have sold about 91 things a year…a lot more in the earlier years… and a lot more BEFORE I started this blog! But I’m having fun doing it, so I’m not complaining.
Thanks for the compliments to my sons Shrimp Scampi…it was delish!
Blessings, Jeanne
I love all the different white fabrics you used for those lovely blouses!! And the Shrimp Scampi looks wonderful. It put me in the mood for pasta so my husband and I just had to go to Olive Garden for dinner. It was good but I’m sure having your own personal chef was so much better!
HI Betty,
Thanks for the comments on my white blouses! It was fun for me to see them all together… well at least the ones I chose to show you…
Olive Garden is a great place to eat… Sometime I’d like to try some of their Alfredo and then bring some of it home to do a little taste test against Kristoffer’s. I think he might win…his is that good!
Thanks Betty,
Blessings, Jeanne
