Update on Felicity’s first Colonial dress: I asked for your help in deciding which of the 12 fabrics I showed, would make a great “first” dress for my new Felicity doll. With 6 votes, number 6 has won…
Number 11 was close with 5 votes, so it will most likely be her second dress…

A few days ago I finished a sweet red and navy plaid Back to School dress for the 13″ Dianna Effner Little Darling dolls. You can see that post HERE if you missed it. I featured the dress on Isabelle, but my other two Little Darlings wanted to try it on and show you how sweet they looked in it. I snapped some pictures of them and wondered “Who Wore it Best?”
Here it is on Isabelle again…
[If you click on any picture it will enlarge.]
This is what Janie looks like in it…
I got the glasses sort of figured out…but they are on wire and I’m a bit nervous about selling them with the dress set. I certainly don’t want anyone sliding them on their dolls face and having a scrape mark…so for now, I’m just going to use them as a prop, I think…
Lian is making sure you notice how she looks in it…
Any thoughts as to Who Wore it Best?
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
My vote is for Isabelle. To me, her hair is just right to draw attention to the eyelet on the tope of the dress. Love the eyelet with the plaid!
Thanks Maureen…
Of course, I won’t be able to agree with anyone, because my “girls” might see my favoritism and then pout the next time I ask them to model… so I’ll just agree with you…”Yes, Isabelle does look lovely, doesn’t she?”
Thanks Maureen,
Blessings, Jeanne
They all are so sweet. I couldn’t pick one. The dress is beautiful on them all.
Reminds me of the type of dresses that I wore when I was a child.
Thanks Sylvia,
I think they all look sweet in it too… of course I might be biased a little bit.
It reminds me of some of the dresses I wore as a kid too…
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, gee gosh, Jeanne! What an impossible question! They ALL look just adorable, each in her own way. They each bring out a quality that makes the dress her “own”, and who is to say one is better than the other? Not me!
I may not be on here for a couple of days, since we are leaving for Branson tomorrow morning, but I will surely be back if I don’t get a chance to check your blog while there.
Morning Linda,
Thanks so much for your sweet comments on the girls in their school dress. Apparently red plaid works for anyone with any color hair… well, I didn’t actually try a red head…but it might…
Have fun in Branson… and yes, The Dixie Stampede is the one you mentioned… my mom has been once with my sister, who has gone to it several times, but I’ve never been…
Enjoy your visit…
Blessings, Jeanne
I have to say Lian, I have no choice because she’s my far and away favorite of your darlings. She actually looks like Sara in those glasses and Sara’s my far and away favorite too 🙂
HI Bobi,
I had a feeling you might pick Lian… she is pretty cute in this dress, isn’t she…
and thanks for liking her glasses… I’m going to try and figure something else out that is less
risky to put on…I’m sure I can find something in the hardware store that would work..
Blessings, Jeanne
They all look cute as a button in the outfit, but I think I have to go with Isabelle on this one. :o)
Thanks Connie,
I “might” agree with you, but I just can’t say it out loud… you know… :o)
Thanks for your sweet comments…
Blessings, Jeanne
Boy, Jeanne, you really know how to get our brains working early in the morning! LOL! Umm…I vote for Isabelle. She only wins by the teensiest tiniest of margins though. Your girls are all super adorable in anything you put on them.
Wishing you a WONDERFUL start to the week, Jeanne!
HI Cindy,
Thanks for your sweet comments about Isabelle…
I’ve seen your posts, but haven’t commented… my sister was here and I saw them on my phone, but didn’t have time to comment…
I loved the storm pictures you hubby took… some really incredible shots.. he’s as good at taking pictures as you are…
Gina looked as darling as ever in the little apple dress. I LOVED her purse and those hair ties that looked like leaves were so sweet. Her sweater was one of my favorites… I loved the blue and red on the white!
And Patiences’ Lovely in Lavender set was just charming… it was such muted colors but looked fabulous on her! That sweater looked like a little fur ball and so delicate at the same time…
And…All those dolls… I’m glad to see that I’m not the only one who “buys and sells” and I wish your auctions great success! I wish I “needed” something you have… but I don’t… :o(
I hope YOU have a wonderful week too, Cindy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Good morning Jeanne,
It is difficult to choose because all 3 girls look adorable. I’m partial to pageboy haircuts so I’d have to say Isabelle 1st, Lian 2nd. The hat is perfect with pageboys.
Have a wonderful day!
Morning Paula,
Thanks so much for your kind comments…Isabelle is smiling… Lian is trying to…
Blessings, Jeanne
Of course I choose Lian, she is my favorite. I will say that Janie looks very sweet in the dress too!
HI Regina,
Oh good, I’m glad someone picked Janie…at least mentioned her name… I didn’t want her to feel left out…
Thanks Regina,
Blessings, Jeanne
I used to be blonde, and I would have loved that dress, so I’m choosing Janie, who looks beautiful in it. I’m sure you’ll be glad to have had pictures of all of them in it. I hope you use photos of everyone when you put the dress on Ebay. Or maybe you’ll keep it in a very small collection of outfits you can’t let go of. I warn you that collecting Jeanne Marie clothes is addictive.
On another subject, I was fascinated by Laura’s comments on AG doll history. I wished I had her here when I wanted to know when the first Girl of the Year came out, but looking for that information led me to an AG Wiki: http://americangirl.wikia.com/wiki/American_Girl_Wiki It has over 3000 pages and anyone 13 or more can contribute additional information. It’s useful if you wonder what shoes went with what outfit. In just a minute, you can find out.
Thanks Marilyn,
Janie LIKES you! Thanks for picking her…now each girl has had at least ONE vote for 1st place! I do plan on using all three girl’s pictures in my ebay listing…
Thanks for your kind comments on my doll dresses too, Marilyn! I appreciate that!
I’ve done my fair share of looking at Wiki too, for American Girl doll information…
Thanks again Laura, for your input… I think several of us learned something…
Thanks Marilyn,
blessings, Jeanne
So late to comment, but since my girls were blondes, Janie wins my vote. How I’ d like a do over on the early part of our lives when I made their new school clothes. Then it was on to the Christmas dresses.
HI Jan,
Oh my goodness… Janie is loving this! 2 votes in a row for her…
That’s the way my sewing goes… a few back to school dresses, a few Fall dresses, then a big push for Christmas dresses!
Thanks Jan,
Blessings, Jeanne
My vote is for Janie. I love the contrast with her blonde hair with the darker plaid. Hope she wins the “who wore it best” contest !
Running off to the hospital again for appointments !!
HI Jeannie,
You have just made Janie’s day… She might turn a little snooty to the other girls, now with 3 votes in a row for her! I hadn’t actually thought about tallying the votes…I was just asking the question… but now I think I will tally them up…
I’m praying for good news from the doctor this time…
Blessings, Jeanne
I think Izzy is the winner for this dress! The other girls look sweet too, but think they will have to wait for their own special school dresses.
Thanks Joy,
Maybe I knew it was Isabelle’s dress all along… there will be plenty of others to come…
Thanks so much,
blessings, Jeanne
I know my posts are later, because of Pacific time. But I vote for Janie. She is my very favorite! Although I do love Lian and Isabelle too. I have a Lian coming next year sometime.
I’m praying for your family.
Judi
HI Judi,
Thanks for thinking Janie looks cutest in the school dress… she’s excited to see the voting so close…
Blessings, Jeanne
I think you had it right the first time…Isabelle looks adorable in it…but maybe a picture of it on each different doll could go in your ad?
Can’t wait to see the Felicity dress! Have a good week!
Thanks Kathie,
Isabelle is awfully sweet looking in the dress… I have to admit it… but I will include a few pictures of the other girls too… since I took so many of them!!! :o)
Thanks for your kind words,
blessings, Jeanne
Well I think Isabella wears it the best. I have an Isabella myself, so maybe that’s why I am partial. I do like Red on brunettes though. Such a beautiful dress. Your designs always look so very perfect!
Thank you so much Ali,
I think Isabelle is in the lead so far… so she’ll get the spotlight in the Ebay auction…
Thanks for your sweet comments on the dress… I’m a brunette and Red is probably my favorite color!
Blessings, Jeanne
