This first section is the same as yesterday…
It’s almost here…the anniversary of the day I started writing this blog. In honor of my 1st anniversary on August 1st, I am planning to have a week of giveaways. The way it will work is, each day this week, I will show you something either my daughter Rebecca or I have made. If it is something you might like to try and win, just LEAVE A COMMENT at the bottom of my blog on the day that item is featured. You can also send me an email and leave a comment too. It doesn’t have to be a long comment…just a comment. (Today’s post will run until 12:00 a.m. (midnight) Wednesday. (Central Time Zone, IL)
[I just did a post on how to navigate my website a few days ago. If you get my blog post through your email with the blue title, you can click on the blue title and it will take you straight to my website. The comments can be left at the bottom. That is actually the easiest way to read it or leave a comment.]
***!!!*** I have a new feature on my blog…a SEARCH box! You can type in whatever you like and if that word is mentioned in a post I wrote, it will pull up all the posts where it was mentioned. I think you’ll like this new feature…I had to try it out myself and it’s pretty fun!
Yesterday’s Giveaway was for a pair of pretty earrings that my daughter, Rebecca made. She actually made 4 different pairs and I had everyone who was interested in them leave a comment for the pair that they would pick if they happened to be the winner.
As I did last night, I wrote everyone’s name who left a comment, on a piece of paper. There were 16 who left comments or emailed me. Then I shuffled them.
I closed my eyes and drew out the winner…
Congratulations Marilyn… You are the winner! I’ll get your black and white earrings mailed out to you. Thanks for playing.

Today’s Giveaway is one where you’ll have to make a choice again. I have 2 slips made for your dolls…one for the 13″ Dianna Effner Little Darling dolls and one for an American Girl 18″ dolls. You’ll have to leave a comment again to be registered for this drawing, so when you leave it, let me know which doll slip you would choose if you are the winner.
The American Girl doll half slip is made from a sparkly tulle and has a stretchy lace waistband. I’ve set the waistband so the gathers fall just slightly below the waist on your doll. It makes the waist less bulky this way. If you need it pulled up for a shorter dress, you can easily do so. It slides up your dolls legs and might be just what you need if you are planning on getting Maryellen, the new 1950’s American Girl doll to be released in just about a month.
[If you click on any picture it will enlarge.]
I made the 13″ Dianna Effner Little Darlings slip in the full version. It too, just slides up your dolls legs. Keep your dolls arms straight down at her sides and begin sliding the slip onto her legs. When you get the straps just about even with her fingertips, you can slip her hands through and work it the rest of the way up. It’s perfect for those pretty dresses you love to see your doll wear.
Well, that’s Giveaway Number 3! I hope to see you here again tomorrow for Giveaway Number 4! I wonder what it will be…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh Jeanne my little darling Tillie would love to win that slip. I’m not sure if I can enter as I live outside the US but here’s hoping
HI Lorna,
Of course you can enter…I’m glad to have you as a reader…
I’ve got you and Tillie down for the Little Darling slip!
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
What pretty slips, Jeanne! I have nothing like these, and I do have American Girl dolls, so will pick that one for sure! While I’m not planning on getting Maryellen, I do plan of getting anything from her wardrobe that my 40’s girls will be able to wear.
HI Linda,
I knew which one you’d pick…
I’m going to have to see Maryellen before I decide. But I have been considering Nellie again..she’d make a good 1900’s doll as well as a 50’s doll…so I’m not sure.
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
I love both of these slips, Jeanne. You can pick either one of them for me!!
HI Karen,
Okay, if you win, I’ll surprise you!
Thanks,
Blessings, Jeanne
The slips are beautiful! Although I have both AGs and LDs, I’d prefer the slip for the Little Darling. I’m sure my 5 will fight over who gets to try it first! 😉
Morning Charlotte,
I hope if you win, your girls don’t fight over them too much!
It’s a good time to teach them about “taking turns!”
Blessings, Jeanne
I think the AG slip would be a beautiful addition to the dolly wardrobe here in PA. Love the LD one also! Beautiful! XOX
Hi Cindy,
I’ll put you down for “one slip for Hannah!”
Love you, Jeanne
My favorite of all the accessories you’ve designed and sewn so beautifully!
Morning Susette,
I’m glad you like the slips, but if you win, you’ll have to let me know which one you prefer…the Little Darling one or the American Girl one…
Thanks Susette,
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi, Jeanne, I still read every day from email and enjoy all your blogs. Haven’t missed one! I love the slip for Little Darling, especially the sparkly net!!! I have been admiring your work for years, it seems.
Hi Sissy,
Thanks for being a faithful reader and thanks ESPECIALLY for the tulle you sold me. I just love how soft and sparkly it is. I knew it would make perfect slips and it did!
If you win, I’ll get it sent right away to your Little Darling!
Blessings, Jeanne
I just love both! But, I don’t have any American girl dolls anymore, so I would like the slip
for the 13″ Effner. All my girls that play with are anxious to see who wins!. Thanks for the fun!!!
Hi Sylvia,
Thanks for participating in the drawing for the slips. If you win, your Little Darlings will certainly be thrilled!
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, the slip for Little Darling is … well, darling! I would be so happy to win this from you! Thanks for your generosity!!
HI Karen,
It will be fun to see who wins… it might be you!
Thanks for being a reader…
Blessings, Jeanne
Ooh they are so pretty – I do wish we were able to get such pretty material. I live outside USA and have 3 American Girl dolls. I just love your blog, and the pretty things you make.
Hi LouiseG,
I’m so glad to have you as a fan of my blog and I hope your girls will be thrilled if they win the slip! Of course, you’ll have to decide who gets to wear it first!
Thanks,
Blessings, Jeanne
My little Mary Jo would so love a new slip. I am gonna HAVE to learn how you do these.
Morning April,
Just to make sure, I’m assuming your are talking about the Little Darling Mary Jo?
Thanks for entering to win…
Blessings, Jeanne
Your slips are beautiful, Jeanne, and I would love one for Gina, but am going to pass on entering because that just wouldn’t be fair when I can sew up one of my own. Now it wouldn’t be as pretty as yours, but I could try to get (sort of) close. The winner will be a lucky duck, that’s for sure. I’m having fun right along with everyone else during your anniversary week.
Morning Cindy,
Oh, are you sure? I don’t mind…if you don’t…you are a reader like everyone else. Why should I exclude you just because you sew?
I’m glad you are enjoying the fun this week.
Blessings, Jeanne
I’ve been watching your eBay auctions for a long time and greatly admire your ability and now first thing every morning I check the mail for your blog. The American doll slip is beautiful, my doll would love to be able to wear one.
Good morning Linda,
Thank you for your kind words about my blog and I’m glad you are enjoying it.
I’ve got you down for the American Girl doll slip if you happen to be the winner.
Blessings, Jeanne
Aren’t they both adorable? Love the tulle look! My two year old granddaughter would wear her princess tulle skirt every moment if possible. If I’m chosen as a winner, I would love the LD slip.
HI Joy,
Thanks for the compliments on the doll slips. It’s fun for me to make them…
If you win, I’ll send the Little Darling one to you…then your granddaughter and your doll can be “twins!”
Blessings, Jeanne
Love the AMG slip. Very beautiful. Several of my dolls would surely like to have it.
Thanks Paula,
I knew ahead of time which one you’d pick!
Thanks so much for being a subscriber to my blog.
Blessings, Jeanne
I just purchased a new Little Darling, who would love to wear your slip. I have been following your site for the past year and love reading your daily blog. Congratulations on your upcoming 1 year anniversary.
Morning Cindy,
Oh, now wouldn’t it be fun for a new Little Darling to win the slip?
Thanks for your congrats on my one year anniversary of writing this blog. It’s been a fun year.
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi Jeanne,
The slips are lovely. That sparkly tulle is almost too pretty to hide. I would love the slip for the American Girl doll. We are looking forward to Maryellen. Another fun time in history.
Hi Laura,
Yes, the tulle is very nice. One of my subscribers, (Sissy) was selling it and I snatched it up very quickly…so glad I did!
Ok, I have you down for the AG slip…
Congrats ahead of time on getting Maryellen…
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi Jeanne, I haven’t been able to read your comments back until today.
I don’t know whether or not my daughter or I will get Maryellen. It will depend on her eye color which we don’t know yet. I”ll guess my daughter will pick up something from her collection and if nothing else make one of her other dolls time travel.
Oooh!!! Now who would love such a gorgeous slip(s)???? Maybe the LDs cause they have none yet! Eeks! Or maybe Mary Ellen (assuming she comes here to live..) Ok. I guess the AG slip cause Kit or..or..could also be right at home with it! Thanks so much!!
And yes, congrats on your blog! Its such a good teaching tool too! Thank you!
Diane
HI Diane,
It sounds like you had a bit of dilemma on choosing the right slip, but I see you decided on the American Girl one… good choice…especially if Maryellen does come to live at your house.
Thanks for the compliments on my blog…glad you are enjoying it.
Blessings, Jeanne
They are both cute, but I would pick the Little Darling slip
Hi Carol,
Thanks for participating in the giveaway..
If you win, I’ll be sure and send the Little Darling slip your way…
Blessings, Jeanne
Both slips are lovely and make the girls look like little Princesses! My Little Darling Ali would love to feel like a Princess so I’m entering the drawing at her urging. LOL Congrats, Jeanne, on the first year of a wonderful blog and here’s to many more! Cheryl
Thank you Cheryl, for your compliments on my doll slips and on my “Blog Anniversary!” I have your name added to the drawing.
Blessings, Jeanne
Boy did you get some responses on this slip! It is so cute…I thihnk I’d line it and use it as a sundress…:) You are right…LD dresses look so much nicer with the full slip under them.
Hi Kathie,
Thanks so much for your comments…I’m guessing your girls would love it if won?
Blessings, Jeanne
Both are beautiful, Jeanne! Neither of my LD dolls has a slip and they would love to have this one, but I’d settle for just knowing where you get the wide lace elastic that you use at the waist on the half slips.
Hi Jevne,
If your girls don’t have a slip…then maybe they will after today! I get the lace at Hobby Lobby but any stretch lace would work.
Thanks Jevne,
Blessings, Jeanne
this is the firt time i’ve seen one of your slips with strps. No g or similar dolls live here but 4 LD’ss do.
HI Jan,
Well, if you have no American Girl dolls, we’ll just put you down in the drawing for a Little Darling slip!
Thanks for entering,
Blessings, Jeanne

HI Carla,
Which one would you like if you are the winner? The one for the Little Darlings or the American Girl slip?
Just let me know…
blessings, Jeanne
Well I guess I missed yesterday’s giveaway, but I did like all the earrings Rebecca made. As for today, I have one of the Little Darling dolls on order and would like to have a slip for her. I have collected a few patterns and plan to make some dresses once she arrives.
HI Carolyn,
Sorry you missed yesterday’s giveaway, but I’ve got you down for a Little Darling slip if you win…
Thanks for participating…
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi Jeanne, I love the Little Darling slip! My LDs are mostly girly girls, with several fancy dresses, and this would be perfect for them! I can barely sew a stitch, and very much admire those of you who can. 🙂 Theresa
HI Theresa,
Thanks for joining in on the fun. I’ve got you in the drawing for a Little Darling slip.
Blessings, Jeanne
I love your pretty slips! My LD, amybeth, would love to wear a new one of yours!
HI Karen,
Thanks for entering the giveaway…I’ve got you in for a LD slip if you win!
Blessings, Jeanne
I would love to be in the drawing for the AG slip. I was so excited back around 1957 to get a tulle slip. It had layers & layers of multi- colored scratchy netting & I loved it so much. I felt like a teenager:)
Thanks Debi,
Well, if you happen to win, you can relive that 1957 tulle slip again with your doll…
Blessings, Jeanne
I am so lucky! I won the earrings! I never win things like that. I do tend to get the jobs I interview for, so I guess I should be satisfied with that luck. I had chemo last year (a little bad luck) and lost my dark blonde hair. It grew back silver and I really like it and these earrings will be perfect with it, don’t you think? I shouldn’t even try to win the petticoat, but as long as I’m being lucky — I’d ask for the AG one.
I think that MaryEllen looks a lot like Debbie Reynolds. I think she’s going to be going to a of happy homes.
HI Marilyn,
Again, Congratulations on winning the black and white earrings that you picked out! I’ve got them ready to go and will drop them off in the mail tomorrow…
I’ll put you down for the AG slip…
Blessings, Jeanne
