It’s a good thing I started this blog post earlier when I had a few minutes, because it’s now 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning and we just got home from helping ALL day with the Singles Valentine Party this evening. I am SO tired but I wanted to finish this post. You know what I want for Valentine’s Day tomorrow? I want to sleep in till 9 or 10 and then get up and eat some chocolate from the gift my hubby picked out for me last night at our Couple’s party! He actually picked out, without knowing it, the Duck Dynasty BIG Valentine box of chocolates and the little red roses box of chocolates. Everyone who thinks chocolate for breakfast is a good idea raise your hand! Mine’s up!
I know every blogger thinks “their” subscribers are the best…but I “KNOW” mine are! You all have blessed me in so many ways that you’ll never even know about. Just the fact that so many of you “have coffee” with me every morning as you read my blog post is way more than I ever expected. There’s not a week that goes by that someone doesn’t tell me to “please keep doing your blog” because they love reading what I have to say. It’s kind of amazing to me…I wouldn’t consider myself a writer, but I do love to tell stories. By writing down my thoughts and then tweaking them a half a dozen times or so, by the time I publish them they are at least free from grammatical errors…I hope! It’s fun to share things with you and especially when it’s something you can learn from or learn to do yourself. I’ve been sewing for a really long time and I don’t profess to have all the answers but I like to share what I know and hope it helps someone else.
I thought I would share just a few emails and thoughts from some of my subscribers…
I will have a new laptop in 2 days. The last few days, the laptop wouldn’t work so my kind husband is getting me another one. I could probably live without it but I can’t live without your blogs!!! Lol. I enjoy your blogs so much and the girls that write you are very nice and they can be so humorous. I am borrowing my husband’s laptop till mine arrives and his is very different from mine but at least it allows me to get your blogs! ~ Paula
Thank you so much for the encouragement, ideas and inspiration to go ahead and make the little doll clothes. Thanks again for your wonderful website. Looking forward to your lovely blog every day along with your fans across the world. ~ Susette
Hi Jeanne, I just wanted you to know that every morning I have coffee with you. Before I go to work, and even on weekends, I pour my cup of coffee and bring up your blog to read your post. Thought I would tell you that I love having coffee with you every morning! ~ Karen
I read your blog every day, it has become a small pleasure in my day to see what you have to share with us. ~ Eileen
I have many many more who have written things expressing their joy in reading my blog posts each day, but I just picked a few of the most recent ones…
And now… speaking of joy! Thursday night was our Married Couple’s Valentine party and Sarah, (who set up my website for me), came in and she was waving one of those orange Kraft padded envelopes at me… “Jeanne, something came for you.” (The address at the bottom of the posts you get if you view them through email, is a PO Box that Sarah set up for me, so it’s not my actual address.) Anyway, she came in with this package and was SO excited… “Something came for you, Jeanne, I’m nosey, open it up and let’s see what you got… It’s soft and squishy…so maybe it’s fabric!” We were like 2 little girls opening up Christmas presents in the wee hours of the morning. I looked at the address on the package and didn’t think I had ordered anything from anyone, so that made me even more curious. Everyone was mingling from the party and here Sarah and I were wondering what this first package to my PO box was.
I opened it up and Maureen, one of my subscribers had sent me the most wonderful apron out of the prettiest fabric. I’m sure she’s made it! It is just so adorable with all those dress forms all over it! I LOVE it Maureen and your note was so sweet too! Thank you very much! This is the part that I didn’t get done on my blog post…a nice picture of Maureen’s apron, but it’s late and so I just hung it over my mannequin bust and snapped a quick picture. I really deserves something nicer, but I hope this will do.
Okay, now one last thing… the candy jar from my Couple’s party in yesterday’s post (HERE)… I asked my subscribers if they would like to guess, like we all did at our party, how many candies were in the jar…just for fun! I counted them all myself and the winner at our party who was the closest to the right number…without going over… remember without going over…just like on The Price is Right… got the jar of candy.
There were actually 321 candies in the jar so the winner is Linda from St. Louis! She guessed 300 and she didn’t go over! Congratulations Linda! You won! I might have to surprise you with something after all…it just doesn’t seem right to not get a prize for being the winner!
Thank you to everyone else who guessed!
Okay, ladies and maybe some gents, I’m heading to bed! I am beat!
See you tomorrow and don’t forget it’s Valentine’s Day, so make sure and tell someone close to you that you love them!
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh my gosh!!!! I won!!!!! Well, it isn’t exactly the lottery, but—-I finally won something! Happy Valentine’s Day to me!
And probably, good Happy Valentine’s Day AFTERNOON to you, dear Jeanne Marie! You deserve to rest today, and I hope your sweetie is good to you!
My daughter got her skinny scarf yesterday for her birthday and just LOVED it! She put it on right away! So a big thanks to you and Rebecca!
Oh, what a darling apron Maureen made for you! So sweet of her.
Now go eat another piece of chocolate and enjoy yourself!
Hi Linda,
You guessed the same amount in the jar as the winner at my party did…300! I guess 300 was the perfect number to win!
I actually was so wound up last night after the singles party that I couldn’t get to sleep. I keep my ipad beside my bed and at 4:05 I picked it up. When I saw the time, I thought I wonder if Linda, who I’m sure is UP… has seen that she was the winner yet. You had already responded at 3:30! Congrats again!
I’m glad your daughter liked her scarf and I hope she finds lots of things to wear it with.
Yes, Maureen’s apron is almost too pretty to use, but I think I will…
My hubby and I got up and had to wash all the pans from the caterer…(2 hours) and then we had to return them to him. (he’s a friend of George’s so we said we’d get them back to him) While we were at his BBQ place we had lunch and a slice of red velvet cake to share. That was my only chocolate so far… It was a big slice of cake, with gobs of chocolate icing, so I’m probably good for the day!
I didn’t get to sleep in very late because of returning Tom’s pans to him so I’m thinking of a nap this afternoon… George is too!
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Happy Valentine’s Day to you, Jeanne and to your sweet daughter, Rebecca !!
You bring joy into my life with your delightful blog. I look forward to reading it everyday. It is my quiet time wonder and imagination “re-charge”. Thank you for sharing your whirlwind of activity.
Thank YOU Jeannie, for reading and commenting so often! I truly appreciate your friendship and hope you are having a wonderful Valentine’s day with your sweetie!
Blessings, Jeanne
Happy Valentine’s Day Jeanne! I also read your blog every morning while drinking my coffee. 🙂 I look forward to it every day. I love seeing all your creations and photos. Keep up the great work!
Thank you Christine,
All of you ladies drinking coffee with me and I’m not a coffee drinker… I’m going to have to start having a cup of tea or hot chocolate just so I can feel welcome at the table!
Blessings, Jeanne
What a nice apron and such pretty fabric! I think gifts made by the giver are the most special, don’t you? I love your blog because you always write about the types of things I enjoy myself. I can’t say I have coffee with you–I like to read your posts at night. Once the dishes are cleaned up and laundry done, I like to sit down and relax and catch up with my “cyber friends”. Hope you had a special Valentine’s Day!
Hi Carolyn,
Yes, it was especially fun for me since I had never seen that fabric before…which is saying a lot since I “thought” I knew ALL the fabrics… ha!
Well, I guess we’ll have to start an evening coffee group so my evening friends can get together at the table and enjoy each others company!
I did have a nice day… just being with my hubby was the best part.
Blessings, Jeanne
Happy Valentine’s Day, Jeanne! I hope you are resting today and enjoying yourself. You are so dear to all of us. Bless you and thank you for being in our lives.
Hey, I’m a tea drinker (but I have to say my Keurig makes a good cup of decaf coffee)… I’ll share a spot of tea with you. ( or hot chocolate).
What a neat apron and thoughtful gift. That was a great idea.
Enjoy your day and RELAX!
Hi Paula,
Your hot chocolate idea sounds good to me… it’s very windy and cold here in Southern Illinois, so I might go whip us up a batch of homemade hot cocoa!
Thanks for being a wonderful and faithful reader… and enjoy your new laptop!
Blessings, Jeanne
