This morning I woke up to find a sweet “love note” from my hubby…
It’s okay… I’ll do it, because he lets me buy dolls…
In fact, we have this thing….he buys tools and I buy dolls! It works out perfectly!
Another thing I was busy doing today was tallying up who were the top 3 “buyers” from me this past year. Each year I send out a prize to my 3 big winners just as a way of saying thank you for your business this past year. 2 of the 3 are subscribers to my blog! If you spent a “little” $$ on my doll clothes, keep an eye out on your mailbox this week… you might find something. YAY!!
…and let me just say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all the customers who bought doll clothes from me this past year. It was a great year and I couldn’t have done it without you!
One of my subscribers sent me a link for a new (to me) doll company… Harmony Club Dolls. I had never heard of them but decided I would pass along the link to you because she might be just the doll you fall in love with.
I promised myself no more dolls till the new historical American Girl comes out, probably this Fall. She’s supposed to be from the 50’s or 60’s.
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
How can you resist that cute little note attached with a clothespin? Hopefully you don’t have to pick apart the lining.
I didn’t hear about the new historical AG. I googled her and found a Pinterest board with a few pics. It looks like she might be from the time when Barbie came out. Fun! Here’s the board I found:

Have a great day, Jeanne!
HI Cindy,
I get notes like this quite often, but this one just struck me as a little sweet! I think I can do it without taking apart the lining…
Yes, the new historical will be a big hit I think… hopefully she’ll be from the 50’s and I’ll be snatching her up… Her prototype is pretty cute…I’ve heard rumors that her name might be Mary Ellen, but it’s not set in stone.
Thanks Cindy, Blessings, Jeanne
My hubby does the same thing. Only without the notes, because he usually tells me when I’m in the room while handing me the ripped open garment. 🙂 I am waiting for the new historical as well, but Grace, the new yearly doll looks cute too. I usually skip a year for GOTY dolls, and this year would be the one to get. 🙂
Hi Christine,
I guess all hubby’s do this if they have a wife that sews! Last year it was a “zipper in a coat” and when he asked me, I told him, “surely I deserve a doll for this, don’t I?” He just smiled… Julie is barely moved in here and I’m already anxious for the new historical (possibly Mary Ellen) to come live here too. I’m passing on Grace… she doesn’t do much for me… can’t say exactly why, but I’ll be passing on her and waiting…
Thanks Christine,
Blessings, Jeanne
Loved the note on the jacket! Your sewing abilities really come in handy. It”s sad to say but our repair/altering seamstress is over at the dry cleaners and it usually takes a week to get done, but we are grateful.
How exciting to hear that there will be another historical doll! I hope it is a doll from the 50’s -thanks Cindy for the link and thank you Jeanne for the new doll company link.
Hi Paula,
I’m not sure when the new historical doll will come out, but I’ll let you know when I hear of anything… probably September…
I’m hoping she is a 50’s doll too!
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, I received Patsy dress today, it is just beautiful. The photos don’t do it justice. Thank you for the treats too! I think the new AG doll is going to be adorable..hope she is the from the 50’s.
Thank you Regina,
I’m so glad you were pleased with Patsy’s dress. I thought it was awfully cute myself! I hope she is the prettiest Valentine on Valentine’s Day at your house. That makes 2 of us hoping that she’s from the 50’s. If she is, I bet she is a huge hit for American Girl…
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, you certainly do have a lucky husband! Actually, most husbands with a wife who sews is lucky anyway! I get these things to do too, although not with a note!
I too am excited to find about the new 50’s AG doll. I did most of my growing up in the 50’s so remember a lot of the clothes from then. Molly’s clothes are more from my time as a little girl, and I really love those sweet dresses. The 50’s were all about saddle shoes, bobby socks, big ruffled slips, poodle skirts and scarves and scatter pins! Do I ever remember those!!! The pains we took to starch those slips and hang them on the line dripping wet, full of liquid starch!
Well, we will have to see what AG comes up with, although I doubt I get the doll, I certainly am going to see about the clothes and accessories!
Now Linda,
You live close to an AG store… I bet she’ll be coming home with you, if she’s cute! How could you possibly resist? I’m ready for Fall, and it’s not even over with Winter yet!
Now all of us from the 50’s have something nice to look forward to in the Fall.
Well, I need to get that seam repaired, and I’m putting away all the Christmas fabrics in my sewing room. I’ve been digging around again, so I’ve got my room in a mess. UGH!
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
I don’t do much sewing for larger dolls, but I went to the site that Cindy mentioned and I really like the new sculpt with the closed mouth. I favor dolls that don’t have teeth showing, don’t know why, just my preference. I couldn’t find names on any of the dolls except Grace. Does each American girl have a different face sculpt? (Is my ignorance showing?)
Hi Jevne,
The American Girls have 8 different face molds… here’s just a quickie overview:
Classic mold ~ Kirsten, Felicity, Samantha, Molly, Kit, Emily, Ruthie, Caroline
Josefina mold ~ Josefina, Elizabeth, Rebecca, Julie, Nellie, Chrissa,
Addy mold – only Addy
Marie Grace mold ~ only Marie Grace has the heart shaped face mold
Jess Mold ~ Jess, Kanani, and Ivy
Asian or #4 mold ~ only the Just like you #4 doll has this face
Kaya mold ~ only Kaya has the closed mouth mold
Sonali mold ~ Only Sonali and Cecile
The Girls of The Year have varying face molds…as do the Just Like You dolls…
So now, Jevne, you know the differences.
Blessings, Jeanne
I am hoping for the 1950s–the clothes were so much fun back then!
Years ago, maybe before they even had any Asian dolls, a bunch of us out here suggested to them that they do a 1950s doll–they could do a girl who was a Korea War orphan, brought to the US and adopted. I thought it was a great idea–they would cover a good era, fashion-wise, adoption, and multi-cultural families!
I’m still waiting for that to happen. Maybe this will be it!! 😉
Charlotte,
You and me and a whole bunch of ladies are hoping for that 50’s gal too!
I hope they listen to what we want!
Blessings, Jeanne
