The last of the Honorable Mention Doll Dresses from 2014…

The last few days I was showing the dresses from 2014. (If you missed the last few blog posts, just click on the word BLOG under the header and you can read the previous posts… they are just stacked one on top of the other…below each post.) There were too many to put into one post so I spread them out over Friday, Saturday and today. It wasn’t a super busy year for me, but I did manage to get quite a few dresses made. I take quite a bit of time on each one and hope it shows. I am anxious to do some pretty Spring and Easter dresses… it’s 19 degrees outside with a windchill factor of 3 degrees, and all I can think of is lightweight Springy fabrics! Hope you’re ready to see some sweet Spring dresses too…

Here’s the last of 2014… and don’t forget, if you click on the pictures, they will enlarge.

Now see how hard that was to pick a favorite…or even 10 favorites. It was really hard to do… could you?

Well, that ends 2014! Who’s ready for some 2015 dresses?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. More pretties! I don’t remember the AG dresses and they are all so sweet. Can’t wait to see your 2015 dresses, Jeanne!
BTW, thanks for the link. Your ribbons are so tidy and displayed perfectly, just like they’re in a little shop. I’m going to look for a case and then adjust the board pieces to fit.

    1. Thank you Cindy, it was fun for me to see them all again too. If you want , I can give you the sellers name on Etsy where I got my chipboard squares. They were so much nicer than the ones I cut out of cardboard myself…

      1. Cindy, I was in the car when I sent you the above message. I had to get home to look up the name of the person selling the chipboard on Etsy. Their Etsy shop is DigitalArtMart…
        Thanks, Jeanne

  2. Thank you for the fashion show these last three days. (or was it four days) All of your dresses are beautiful. Some I have never seen. I am anxious to see what outfits 2015 brings, especially for Spring and Easter…and for the American Girls.
You said you washed Julie’s hair – I have washed several dolls’ hair but not any dolls with wigs. I have one AMG I’d like to wash the hair, but keep putting it off because it is a wig. I am reluctant because – wig, glue, water? How did you wash her hair? Thank you.
    Have a blessed day.

    1. HI Paula,
Thanks for taking a peek at all the dresses from 2014! I am so ready to start this year off with a bang… new and pretty dresses are on the way!
As far as washing the AG dolls hair…I use a shampoo with a conditioner (Pantene). I hold a wash cloth over the dolls face and especially their eyes, kind of holding the doll by the front of the neck using my fingers to hold the washcloth over her face. I wrap the dolls body in a grocery bag and then a hand towel. I sort of tip the top with her head in the sink, running water gently over her head. I don’t usually get all the way to the front of the dolls head wet.. just a little ways back. After the hair is good and wet, I use a little shampoo and lather it up for a few minutes. Then make sure you rinse WELL to get all the soap out. I gently use a wide tooth comb beginning at the bottom and work my way up. Sometimes there are tangles and sometimes not. Then I switch to the doll wig brush and blow it dry on COOL… not warm, not hot, COOL. or else you’ll have a mess. Styling it as I gently blow it dry. I’ve done several dolls hair and haven’t messed up any yet. Hope this helps. There are also lots of YouTube videos on how to wash American Girl Dolls hair too.
      Blessings, Jeanne

OMGosh…those are my favorites of your favorites.
The piping the purple floral is amazing. Love piping on anything
The green and white reminds me of the dress Scarlett O’Hara made from drapes in Gone With The Wind.
The necklace on the black floral masks that place where her fabric meets her head which always kind of bothers me on the AG’s.
The matching buttons on the sleeveless dress just make me smile.
The pink felt hat is so perfect on her short black hair…you do a A+ job on details!

    1. Thank you Kathie,
Wow…what a nice compliment on each dress listed! Thank you so much! Coming from someone else who sews, I am truly flattered…
      Thanks so much Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. More beautiful dresses, I would have to choose the last photo of Lian’s dress as one of my favorites. The little Minnie Mouse is too cute!

    1. Thank you Regina,
Those little Minnie Mouses are some of my favorites too! I have a few left so you’ll see them again this year! Hope you’ll keep watching!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Thank you Jeanne for the pointers on washing the AMG wigs. I have seen some of those You Tube videos but they never quite show the actual hair washing that I’ve seen – just the before and after. I once washed a used doll but only ended up doing the lower section and once it dried, it didn’t look so hot. I haven’t tried it again. I wondered how close you got to the area that is glued on to the head. I will try again. thanks!
