I can’t believe it but I managed to get my house cleaned up, dinner made, my Patsy dress listed on Ebay, my company has come and gone and now I’m writing my post. Whew! Today had many less interruptions than yesterday, so that’s the only reason it all got done.
Well, here is Patsy in all her glory! Doesn’t she look like a little princess? I think she does. I added a little more decoration with beading on the front of her dress bodice. The bias cut sash in a pink and white checked fabric adds just a bit of interest. It is stitched at the sides so it stays in place, and then ties into a bow in the back.
If you click on my pictures, they will enlarge…
Her muffin hat has a bow added so it’s not so plain.
The tulle slip is simple but it does the job of holding out her dress perfectly.
Patsy knows how to dive into the Dolly Toy box… in case you missed that post… click HERE. She knew just what she wanted… a little white teddy bear and then asked for a pink bow around her neck.
So Regina, I hope this was close to what you envisioned when I let you pick the fabric…
Now, who’s ready to buy it for their Patsy doll? You can find it on Ebay by clicking on the picture at the right side bar. (If you are reading this post as an email, click on the blue title and it will take you to my website. There you’ll find the dress on the right sidebar.) You can also click on the little Ebay icon at the right side bar and it will take you to my listings as well.
After dinner was over, I showed my company Patsy’s dress. The mom and 10 year old daughter couldn’t believe how tiny and delicate it was. I found out this little girl got a Frozen doll for Christmas and she asked me if I had any scrap fabric she might make a cape out of. Scrap fabric you ask? YES… I have scrap fabric. I let her pick out some tulle, some crushed velvet, some slippery pink fabric with little stars and moons on it. She was thrilled like nothing you’ve ever seen. I can’t tell you how many times she hugged me. Then I asked her if she had any needles to sew with. She didn’t, so I fixed her up with 3 packages of assorted needles and 4 spools of thread. Right after I put it all in a big ziplock bag, she was ready to go home. I’m guessing someone wanted to start a sewing project! This was a perfect ending to a perfect day!
Thanks everyone,
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
What a nice gesture to her. She will remember you forever. 🙂 A new seamstress in the works. Patsy’s dress looks just lovely.
Thank you Christine,
It was so much fun to just open up my sewing cabinet with “some” of my fabric in it and just say to her, “do you see something that catches your eye?” and let her pick out exactly what she liked. She didn’t have school today because of the extreme cold weather, so I imagine some little girl is sewing up a storm.
Thanks for reading,
Blessings, Jeanne
Patsy looks so pretty in her new dress. Congrats on getting in finished. Can’t wait to see what you “whip up” next. (If it were only that easy, right?)
Thank you Cindy,
It was a whirlwind of a day, and I still can’t believe I found time to get it listed on Ebay, but I guess you do what you love…
I haven’t even looked at my doll list to see who is next…but it’s super cold, so it’s an “indoor” day for me too!
I think it’s probably colder where you are than it is here… so YOU stay warm and sew, sew, sew yourself.
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, it is exactly what I envisioned. Just so pretty and such a sweet little girls dress.
Thank you Regina,
It is perfectly suited for Patsy, I think! She is such a sweet little doll. You started it when you picked this precious fabric.
Thanks again,
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne,
The dress turned out to be just adorable!
But that little girl—-oh, how I wish I would have had someone like you to help me! I did have my grandmother, but she didn’t have all the “pretties” like you have to pick from! I got to pick from various feedsacks for my dolls for dresses! LOL But I’m sure this little girl will never forget you, and who knows, she may be the next Jeanne Marie!!!
Thanks Linda,
This little girl has a very special stuffed doggie that she’s had since she was 2. I found some “doggie” print fabric and we have a “date” to make Paco a pouch for her to carry him in. It is fun to pass along extras that you have to someone who is interested. I told her she’d have to show me what she comes up with from the fabrics she chose. Maybe I’ll show them on my blog sometime…
Thanks Linda,….stay in and stay warm…it’ll be Spring soon!
Blessings, Jeanne
I hope you started that little girl off on a sewing hobby! I can just see her excitement.
Patsy’s dress could not be cuter! The tiny checked trim is just what it needed and the sweet little slip…those touches make your dresses so perfect!
Thank you Kathie,
I wished I could have shown everyone her face!! It was priceless…
Thanks for the compliments on Patsy’s dress. I love it when everything turns out just like you had hoped it would. This one did.
Blessings, Jeanne
I don’t have a Patsy doll, but what a sweet little dress! I love that you got your young visitor set up to do some creating for her own doll. If she gets interested in sewing, you’ve really given her a lifetime gift.
Thank you Carolyn,
Yes, it was fun to see her eyes light up when she saw my fabric stash… she probably had never seen so much up close. It was so sweet too, when I was trying to pick out some spools of thread for her, she didn’t want to take my new spools still wrapped in plastic…she wanted to take the ones that were used!
Thanks for taking a peek at Patsy’s dress…
Blessings, Jeanne
