I did it! I did it! I got Julie’s new dress finished! I’m excited because Julie is my newest (used) doll and she moved right up to the top of the list doing some modeling for me. She is very photogenic and has a bit of a California tan I think. Her dress was one I copied from my latest pattern book. You can read all about that post HERE if you missed it. You can read all about my search for Julie HERE.
First I’ll show you the picture of the dress I copied from my new pattern book.
This is how I interpreted it…I think PINK might be Julie’s color. She looks very sweet in it.
If you click on any picture, it will enlarge.
I like the sleeves… they have elastic in the lower end and can be pushed up like you see them in my pictures or left down.
Rebecca made Julie the sweetest necklace from pretty pink and white glass beads mixed with silver and added a darling heart charm with pink rhinestones.
I can’t believe I found this poodle in my Dolly Toy Box and it matched perfectly with the pink in Julie’s dress…
Our photo session went so well, I had a hard time narrowing down my pictures that I wanted to post, so I’ll show a few more for you to see.
I will get this listed on Ebay Wednesday evening. You can watch for the picture of it at the right side bar. If you click on that picture, it will take you directly to the auction.
Thanks for letting me and Julie share her new debut dress. I think since I went to high school in the 70’s, this is going to be a lot of fun making outfits for her. I’d love to hear what you think.
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
It looks great on her. She is a very sweet looking Julie. 🙂
Thank you Christine, I just knew a pretty dress would make her even more beautiful! Blessings, Jeanne
Julie looks so pretty in her pink Valentine dress and the necklace is very sweet. I think she is my favorite of your AG dolls.
Hi Regina, because she’s new around here, she’s got me wrapped around her little finger! The necklace Rebecca made is even prettier in person! Blessings, Jeanne
I LOVE those sleeves, adorable! I can tell Julie is a very happy girl modeling her new pink dress and cuddling her pink poodle. She must feel quite lucky to be living with you and your dolly crew. Sweet pictures!
Thanks Cindy,
She has grown on me. I am glad the dark spot on her cheek and the gold mark on her chin doesn’t show up in my pictures. I need to fix that gap at her neck though, and tighten her legs. I hope she’ll like it here!
Blessings, Jeanne
I absolutely love her new dress!! Perfectly made and the trim is exactly what we would have put on that dress. In fact, I think my younger sister had a dress just like that out of a soft floral color. She graduated in 1971 and wore many of the types of outfits I saw in your catalog. Mother did the sewing for her. So very cute.
You are a pattern wizard. Could you give us a course on pattern making???? please!!
Hi Jeannie,
Thanks so much for your comments on Julie’s new dress. I am pleased with the way it turned out too. This is one pattern I don’t remember ever making for myself, but as I look at it, I don’t know why…it is so cute!
I don’t think I could give a course on pattern making, but maybe I’ll sprinkle in a few tips about how I do it.
Blessings, Jeanne
Honestly…she looks so happy..her smile is bigger !
Thanks Kathie,
I can’t stop going in my sewing room and looking at her standing on my cutting table. I’m so happy I found a “pretty” Julie… I guess it pays to wait!
Blessings, Jeanne
Love the dress. Your Julie looks so cute in it. I think she must be so happy to be in your care. The trim is beautiful, especially up against that gorgeous pink. It will be fun to see what else you make for her.
Have a great day!
Thanks Paula,
She loves the dress, I love the dress… I guess we got it right this first time.
I’m ready to make something else for her already!
Blessings, Jeanne
I love her dress and the necklace as well! She is one lucky dolly! You are SO talented and I love your blog. Thanks!
Thank you Jane,
You made my day with your comments. It is fun to have new dolls come live with me. I don’t ever hear any complaints…unless it would be that they stand too long naked on the dolly shelf waiting for their turn to model…
I’m glad you are enjoying reading every day!
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, I would have made that for my daughter in a heartbeat! I love the way the 70’s clothes were so much easier to sew, no fitted waists! Those colors are just adorable and Julie looks very happy to have her new dress—but not for long!
Thanks Linda, I was very pleased with how her first dress looks. When I was debating about whether or not to get a Julie doll, lots of people told me my Elizabeth would work just as well, but it feels really nice to have “The real deal!” Thanks, Jeanne
