Someone asked if I had a “favorite” Christmas doll dress??? Do you know how hard that is to answer? V-E-R-Y hard! I’ve been making them for years and each one, when I make it, seems to be my favorite. Sometimes it turns out to be the photo shoot that is special. Sometimes I just capture the dolls expression so perfectly it becomes my favorite. So I did a little searching through my Christmas dress pictures and hope I can answer the question…at least I’ll try…how about my favorite top ten? Again, I’ll do it backwards and work my way to number 1…
Number 2
I don’t have a single shot of Rebecca’s green dress on the right but here it is in the “group” photo.
I thought #2 and #1 deserved a few extra shots…
Number 1
Something about this dress just wins me over every time I look at it. I learned to crochet the little caps and that was fun. I designed the jumper pattern and I LOVE the holly fabric… that’s why it’s #1.
I don’t know if you agree with me or not, but those are my choices…
I’ve picked up several new subscribers and I wanted to welcome you to my blog. We have lots of fun around here and I hope you’ll post a comment soon and join right in.
See you tomorrow,
Blessings and Merry Christmas to you all,
~ Jeanne
Hi Jeanne,
I find it interesting that three of your top 10 favorites are ones you sewed this Christmas season. I really loved Kirsten’s Dress as well. The bonnet with the ruffle made her look especially sweet.. It must have been extra hard to let three favorites go!
Now I’d love to see a post of your favorite dresses of all the time after Christmas.
Merry Christmas!
Laura
Hi Laura,
Oooooohhh… my all time favorite, now that would be hard… I’ll have to think on that one for a little bit..
I guess with 3 favorites from this season, maybe I “like” my newest work best! Who knows?
Sometimes it is a bit harder than others, but there’ll always be more!
Thanks so much Laura,
Blessings and Merry Christmas,
Jeanne
My favorites are #3 & #6. I am absolutely in love with that fabric. The dresses are wonderful. A perfect combination.
Jeannie,
I love that fabric too! It is just the prettiest combination of colors.
Ellowyne had one made out of it and so did Addy… my stash is running
low on it.
Thanks Jeannie and Merry Christmas,
Jeanne
Hi Jeanne. I remember your #1 favorite so well. It is also one of my favorites of yours too. (Sorry I cannot pick a single favorite of your dresses, but this is one of them.) The jumper style, the lace top, the adorable print. It’s an all around winner!
Thank you Cindy,
Do you have favorites of your work? You’ll have to let me know what is YOUR favorite Christmas dress you’ve made…
Blessings and Merry Christmas, Jeanne
I’m behind reading your posts…but I never delete them! I think I agree with you…that jumper it too cute for words and the red sash and lace blouse just make it! That doll also poses so perfectly too..it helps show off the outfit. I can’t wait to start sewing again after Christmas. I sewed ( On quilts yesterday for 14 hours) and my hands are so sore I can hardly type! I may just admit I can’t schedule my time well at all. Always behind this time of year but 3 Snowman wall hangings and two 45 x 54 quilts are DONE
Now I can wrap!
Wow Kathie,
You have been busy! I give you a big pat on the back…you’d probably rather have a hot bath! What a great sense of accomplishment you must feel! I’m a little anxious to get back to sewing myself as well. One more party to go and I’ll be done… I went shopping for the first time today! EEK! I’m REALLY behind!
Thanks Kathie and Merry Christmas to you,
Blessings, Jeanne
Where is my favorite? It’s the black one with white sleeves that reminds me of an outfit I wore in the early 70’s. I’m convinced that everyone who sees it will want one.
All the best,
Marilyn
